  1. Xbox One High Latency When Connected to a Router


    What is your NAT type, you can change this on the Xbox One if it is strict or Moderate. What to do is test multiplayer. When it says its all good, do not hit A, hold the bumpers and the triggers in all at the same time. A detailed Network screen will load.
    This is like the other one, but it will have your detailed NAT. Sometimes it will say a cone behind, or a port is slow ( or something like that )

    When the Detailed NAT loads, hit B, then go back to your Network and check the NAT, this should change if your NAT was not open. You may need to repeat this a couple times. If your port is slow make sure that your router has these ports open and the IP is
    just for your Xbox

    Port 88 (UDP)

    Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

    Port 80 (TCP)

    support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live

    Saved Patriot, unfortunately I can't look at Your router by myself and can't ask You to gather network packets dump. Without this I can't check what happening at low level in Your network.

    I have some ideas, but this can't be proved without low level information. So I only can wish that somebody near You could check Your network setup at low level.

    The only thing now that I can think of is to move the router away from your Xbox. Dont have it close.

    xFR3AKonaL3ASHx, in case of cable connection this would not help, in case of Wi-Fi, can, in some situations.

  6. Bump, I really miss the world of Xbox Live, so I'm bringing up the post for more advice. I'm about to contact Xbox Support one more time, if that comes to no avail then I will try to request an update where the networking on the Xbox will be modified, this
    will change how the Xbox sends packets through a NAT from a router. If that also doesn't work (mostly likely it won't work because Microsoft doesn't really listen to their consumers) I'll have to wait for the constant updates that Microsoft delivers till it
    fixes my problem. My neighborhood probably uses a different type of cabling than the regular neighborhood. To Microsoft I'm probably just another disgruntled customer to them.

    Make it so the headers on the packets don't cause so much delay.

    Saved Patriot, I don't get, what You mean by this, headers have well know format, they can't be changed. Some routers can do NAT at hardware, like CISCO ASR routers. But Microsoft can't change anything in packet headers, this be against standards.

  10. My latency when back down to 100ms, just installed a new router (same brand) the Netgear N300 in combination with the Arris Dg1670. To the Microsoft Engineers investigating my issue please continue to check our connection so this doesn't come back.

    Greetings Patriot!

    Just to clarify, is your Arris DG1670 operating in bridge mode? If so, did you configure this mode all by yourself, or did your ISP help you with this process? I'm asking this because the DG1670 is a modem combined router/NAT/switch.

    Appreciate if you can post up the model number of your Netgear N300, since the N300 is a serie of wireless routers by this vendor.

    zanswerlive, yes, apparently it fixed it. Before I switched it out with a new router but that never fixed the problem.

  14. My ISP configured it for me in bridge mode.

    I am out of town at the moment so I look at the model number, if it helps with your search the router is called Netgear N300 Wi-Fi router with High Power 5dBi External Antennaes
