Xbox One headsets glitched out

My headset wasn't working, so I even bought a new one, but both don't seem to work. In a party it says there is indeed a headset on, but I don't even have it plugged in. I can hear others but can't seem to talk myself. I rebooted my xbox, updated controller,
turned off kinect and double checked that it doesn't turn on for chatting, I checked my settings but it still won't work. It doesn't even seem to work for game chat. I even tried using the kinect mic, but it still seems to be bugged out. Any help would be
appreciated.

I was one the phone with xbox support for about 3 hours all together today and did all the troubleshooting and even was as far as factory restarting my xbox and it still didnt work!! I am having the same problem!

 

I can't hear through any type of headset on multiple controllers....

I did all or most of the solutions, hearing is not the problem. I just cant talk, everything seems to work but noo one can hear me. Thanks for the help anyways, might solve some issues for others.

 

I'm currently having the same problem. I've tried different controllers, I've tried the standard issue headset and the headset adapter. I don't think the hardware is the issue...
