    xbox one headset


    just recently ive had headset problems that are a little unusual. i can hear everyone in a party and even the game itself comes through but i myself can not chat and it happened while i was in a chat with friends. at one point they can hear me then the next
    they cant. i thought it was the mic so i went out and bought a brand new xbox one $60 headset and even that did not fix the issue. i have a second controller and tried that and still wont work. so at this point im at a loss as for what to do please someone
    help me!

    Hey there,

    This doesn't sound like an issue with the headset or your hardware as much as it may be an issue with your connectivity.

    Try out these first few steps from here:

    support.xbox.com/.../wired-headset-help

    - Check your mic settings are not set to muted

    - Power cycle your console

    - Re-associate your controller with your profile

    If these do not work then it may be a NAT issue, which can degrade your online performance. You can check your NAT Type under Network Settings -> Current Network Status, and check this here to see if that may be the issue:

    Following that, if you do have an issue try these to check what solutions may be available depending on the problem:

    ive already done all the basics you listed as well as checked my ports and made sure my nat was open none of which helped

    Do you know if anyone else in the party was having any issues, or was it just you?

    it may not be your NAT Type giving the issue, it may be your friends NAT Type, so make your sure friend is running through those same steps in the above area and make sure he is on an open NAT Type as well.

    so ive bought a new controller too just to be sure but even still it wont work as far as the nat type for me and my friends they are all open and even when in a party by myself the light for the mic wont light up i literally have tried everything that has
    been listed and much more including turning on powersaving mode so im at my witts end

    the funny thing is i turned on the kinect and that works for the mic this is ridiculous

    I can understand your frustration with all the bad luck you have been having. And, for the record, I am not part of the Microsoft staff nor an Xbox customer support employee. But, I can say that we have 2 Xbox Ones and 1 Xbox One S, and 2 of the

    Xbox One Stereo Headsets    . And, both headsets work well, with and without the
    Stereo Headset Adapters    , on all our Xboxes.

    Actually the OP is the one suggesting he wear his XBox One headset at the same time as wearing his Polk headset.



    I'm the one suggesting he use his standard headset until they update the XBox ONE to work with the older expensive headsets or until they release new expensive headsets for the ONE.
