xbox one headset the mic mute button keeps flashing orange

i bought a brand new mic today plugged it into the controller and the mute button just keeps flaring has any one fix this.

When you press the mute button on the headset does it illumindate orange.

 

Hearing players through my tv, but my headset is plugged in.

If the headset is plugged in, you should hear sound through the headset. When you have the headset plugged in, click the mute button on the headset adapter. Does an orange light illuminate on the mute button when you press it? If not, you may not have the
adapter inserted all the way in.

 

Hey Snip, make sure you have the latest firmware updated downloaded for the controller. You might also want to check to see if the headset is plugged in fully. It's hard to tell sometime because it feels like it's going break if you force it but it will
make a snap sound when it in. I last, check the kinect settings and see if you have voice chat enabled. If you want to use just the headset to hear audio and chat with your friends make sure this setting id disables but don't disable control kinect with voice.

My xbox one mic that comes with the xbox has lighting which is flashing on the mute button but i had updated my controller.
