Xbox One headset sends "crackling noises"

Today when I joined my Xbox Live party with my friends they reported that they were hearing a lot of crackling noises that occurred whenever I talked. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this.

Details:

-Headset that came with the console

-just started today

-No visible damage to cord or connections

-can hear perfectly

-using play & charge kit plugged in

Have tried:

-Unplugging and re-plugging

-Console resets

-made sure it was firmly in it

-Resetting controller

Headset crackling

My headset (rig 600) is crackling and making a static noise. My headset is fine but what settings should i to get rid of the staic noises?

So I recently bought a xbox one headset, like the one that comes with the console. The first day was fine but today i hear crackling noises coming from it and I was hoping someone could tell me how to fix this. My controller is updated.

 

Have you updated the firmware of the controller while the headset was plugged in? You can check this by heading to Settings>Devices

Also, it may be that there is a loose connection in the headset that you cannot see.

 

The problem fixed itself; my Xbox randomly crashed and when I turned it back on the problem was solved.

 

Actually nevermind, a bit after I posted that last response, the headset is no longer working at all, the sound of other people now comes through the tv, and it will only send what I'm saying through my Kinect. It won't register my headest at all, but still
lights up the orange line when I hit the mute button.

 

That means that your controller isn't assigned to you. Head to Settings>Devices and assign it to your gamertag. That should put the sound back through the headset.
