Xbox One Headset randomly stopped working.

Hello, I was hoping I might find some answers about a problem I've encountered as I've looked around but haven't found a solution that applies to the particular set of circumstances I've run into. I'll get right to the point.

The other day I was talking to a friend in a party, and I happened to leave the controller's range, resulting in it disconnecting and needing to reconnect. 'No big deal', I thought to myself. But once it reconnected, my headset no longer worked - or rather,
the controller seemed to stop recognizing it entirely. I have the standard wired Xbox One headset. I've tried syncing the controller again both with and without the headset plugged in, switching the batteries, doing a hard reset, signing in with the controller
instead of through the Kinect, unplugging the Kinect entirely, and simply waiting it out. Nothing seems to work. I am convinced this is not as simple as 'it's dead and needs a replacement' given that it worked as it always had before I left the wireless range
of the console.

I don't have a micro-USB to update the controller itself, though I highly doubt that's the issue all things considered. Something worth mentioning is before this, my controller was never able to connect to the console while the headset was plugged in, I would
have to first connect it with the headset unplugged, then plug in the headset, however I only ever saw this is a mild annoyance considering everything would work fine afterwards.

I would really rather not have to get another headset as I haven't exactly used this one much, and I've had my fill of constantly replacing Xbox 360 headsets in the past. Any help would be greatly appreciated. As an additional note, yes I've gone through the
Xbox One headset troubleshooting.

So update for u guys .. Went on live chat about this prob and within 1 min was offered a replacement as a option which makes me think they know these chat headsets are prone to unexpected failure ... They took 30 mins to make sure everything was good my
end ie hard reboot update controller blah blah ... Didn't work so they too my serial number registered my console and sent me a UPS label to send in my headset for replacement ..so I'm quite happy. Can take 14 days so I will update u on actual time. No party's
till then for me :-( ... No response on this thread from Xbox .... Tut tut .

. + when I use a mobile headphones with mic in my wired pad why r those sliders to the left of. Home screen ... Uknow the ones for the mic monitoring + chat an game volume mixer . and main volume slider showing but do nothing n reset when u come off the
screen ..why do those show if they don't work so annoying having options u carnt use .. Anyone else have this or do ur sliders work? with a 3.5 Jack mobile type headphones with inline mic

Yeah same issue with my headset as well and I contacted Xbox support and they said they will have they're audio director troubleshoot it and resolve it in about 30 min to an hour

 

my headset is like that too! i dont know what the deal is

 

If I walk out of range with controller and come back, I always lose headset capabilities! If the battery is low and loses connection, I always lose headset capabilities!! Even though it says connected in settings it does not work! This is obviously a
firmware or software problem, I know I'm not the first so WHY ISNT IT FIXED??? NOTHING I do fixes it besides shutting down the whole console, yeah that's awesome!!

 

Well hopefully we can get an answer sometime soon.

 

The same thing has happened to me!! This is annoyingly absurd. Has anyone found a solution??
