  1. Xbox One Headset Produces No Sounds

I'll try to be brief, but I've been working on this for a while. One day I got on and I couldn't hear anyone through my headset (though they could still hear me). So far I've done the following:

    • Tried another headset and followed the online chat headset troubleshoot webpage
    • Tried another controller
    • Hard reset my Xbox one
    • Confirmed that privacy setting for my Xbox Live account are set to allow to chat to everyone
    • Opened up all required ports on my router (all 7 ports)
I'm out of ideas. I can confirm that the I can be heard through the headset in both game chat and party chat. I can't hear the "beeps" normally heard when adjusting the volume with the headset controls. I can also confirm that chat does work through my speakers
    and kinect microphone.

    Help please. Thanks.

    :)

How do headsets work on the xb1?

Okay so I've been looking for a good surround sound headset for my xbox one. evertime I see what turtle beach, tritton, etc have designed for the xbox one, they are stereo headsets. People are saying that the new Xbox has what it needs INSIDE the Xbox to
make it surround sound, so any headset is able to produce surround sound. If this is true, I will be buying a stereo headset, but if it isn't, should I buy tritton 720+ and the headset adapter? Any comment helps

  3. Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

    Yes, this product
    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset

will produce sound from the xbox one controller to the xbox one stereo adapter which the headphones will allow you to plug the XBox Headphones in and hear sound and chat with the mic.

watch the video in the link above. At the end it shows the adapter, and the cord on the headphones that you would plug in.

Check your connection where the dongle actually plugs in and make sure something isn't in there. Also snap your party and see if allow voice is turned on. My stays on off for some reason. I have to manually change it every time I am in a party.

Also try rebooting by holding down the power button on your console and the menu button on your controller at the same time for about 8 seconds until your console turns off. Wait 30 seconds and reboot. See if that helps. And the only other thing I would
suggest is try a party chat with your Kinect turned off and see if it is overriding your headset. Who knows.

  6. I've cleared the cache and that hasn't helped. There shouldn't be anything in either the headsets or the controllers that should cause an obstruction. I did look at all the controllers and the headsets to make sure that nothing was lodged inside that shouldn't
    be.

  10. If your pressing up and you're not hearing a beep sound, then it sounds like it could be that the headset is faulty, but seen as you've mentioned that you've tried multiple headsets, then I can only assume its the controllers mic port that is faulty. try
a friends controller to confirm its the controller.

  11. I've been having the same exact issue dude.

mute light works. yellow talk light even comes on but I can't hear anybody who is talking. nobody is muted, blah blah.

but there is definitely no beep when I push the volume all the way up. I've been thinking it's an issue with that rechargeable battery pack xbox put out. it seems if I unplug it while I'm playing or in a party the entire mic system stops working. the
chat starts coming out of my tv, etc. it did last night. but now, absolutely zero sound since I started playing this morning. quite frustrating.

Hey all- I used to have issues with my mic occasionally. What I found that works for me 100% of the time, is to be sure the mic is plugged into the controller before I turn it on. So, I turn on my X1 with voice, then manually turn on my controller with
    the mic plugged in.

Before I did that I had issue with my mic activating, and other strange behavior. Give that a shot, but possibly your controller port could be a problem. Also a hard boot one per week: With the console on, press and hold the power button on the console
for 5-8 seconds until it shuts off. Unplug the power supply, wait about 30 seconds and then plug it in and reboot. You should see the green splash screen upon reboot. It may take a minute to boot all the way to the home screen. If you did not see the green
Xbox splash screen, please redo it.

@MechTech, I just want to clarify a few things since many of the posts after your initial post, while excellent suggestions, didn't exactly address your problem.

Regardless of what you try, while you cannot hear a thing via your headset, others can hear you talking via your headset?

If the above is correct, have you ever been able to hear anything through your current headset?

It's definitely odd that you have tried several headsets and controllers and still getting the same problem. Does your headset work via someone else's console?
