    Xbox One headset problems.


    Hey.. so basically right now I own two headsets, an Afterglow LVL 5+ and a Turtle Beach (don't know the specific name), anyway the headset(s) ever since I got them on Christmas have been very iffy. Sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. This meant
    that most of the time I couldn't hear people and people couldn't hear me. I can hear game sound perfectly, and the xbox recognizes my mic going into the headset adapter but when I speak it doesn't recognize my voice, yet I can hear my voice in my headset.
    I've tried unplugging, restarting my Xbox, just about everything. If anyone knows the answer please tell me! Thanks! (By the way, this on xbox one.)

    Will the Xbox One have diffrent headsets?

    You get the new headset with the Xbox one, so not problems!

    Xbox One S and Official Stereo Headset Adapter not recognized

    Hi Zathrus,

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset     with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
    adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

    Xbox One headset problems.

    Please try these steps

    Restart your console by going to Settings > Power & Startup > Restart Now

    ◾Please use our Troubleshoot parties on Xbox One support page for me, and verify you have done all these steps

    ◾Also attempt our NAT troubleshooter to see if that may help you out

    ◾Pass the troubleshooter links off to your friends, too

    ◾Try out a wired connection directly to your modem

    I understand that you have Open NAT (or may have it) right now, however the NAT troubleshooter step is required before we are able to continue.

    If those do not help you, please update your controller by going to Settings > Devices & accessories > Select your controller > Update (if available). Follow the instructions there, and then post back with what firmware version your controller is on. You
    can see this on the controller page, and it should be 1.2.2236.0.

    Hey there Michael,

    Sorry to hear that your son is running into problems with the headset. Is he attempting to use the same headset at both locations or is it different console, controller, and headset?

    If he is using the same controller or same headset at both places then it is possible that the device itself could be the problem.

    Take a look at the following support articles for helpful troubleshooting steps.

    Give it a try and let us know of any changes.

    Hey there MJ!

    Sorry to hear that you guys are experiencing difficulty.

    It could be a couple of things, depending on the brand of headset. Generally, the steps outlined in

    Xbox One Chat Headset troubleshooting     would help with resolving most headset problems, so I would try those out if you haven't already.

    Also, if it's some third party headset, it might help to get a Xbox One Headset Adapter, as it was designed to help with compatibility problems of any sort.

    Also, what type of headset is it? Do any other controllers work with the headset? Are other people able to hear or is it a problem with both hearing and speaking using the headset?

    Controller Update for Stereo Headset Adapter Fails

    Just bought a brand new titanfall edition controller and had the same problem. The controller refused to update with the xbox stereo headset hooked up. Looks like it's the headset/adapter that is the problem. I'm going to return the headset and try a different
