XBox one Headset Problem

My son is having an issue with the turtle beach headset. He can talk to all party members through the mic no problem, however he can hardly hear any of them. Changed headsets and no change. Changed controllers and no change.

Any other ideas to solve the problem.

Headset adapter issue.

Hiya,

I recently purchased the xbox stereo headset adapter so that I could use my turtle beach with the xbox one (its listed as being compatible as long as you have the adapter).

I updated my controller when I was prompted to so that I could use the adapter the problem is that when I plug my headset in it doesn't appear to be recognized as being able to be used for mic chat.

I can hear other peoples voices through my turtle beach but can't communicate back with it. The headset that came with my xbox one works fine using a similar adapter(the one attached) so not really sure what the problem is.

Any ideas/advice much appreciated as its quite annoying having to use the headset that came with the xbox (always preferred TB headsets).

feedback through the console will be the best way to make sure the team is aware that you are having an issue.

Also, it might be helpful to know when you say "...actual headsets designed to work with XB1", are you referring to the "Xbox One Stereo Headset" ? If so,
may I suggest you double check "Set up and troubleshoot your Xbox One Stereo Headset" .

Have you tried to change the settings on the Xbox itself - settings>display & sound>volume>chat mixer

Hey there Michael,

Sorry to hear that your son is running into problems with the headset. Is he attempting to use the same headset at both locations or is it different console, controller, and headset?

If he is using the same controller or same headset at both places then it is possible that the device itself could be the problem.

Sorry to hear that you guys are experiencing difficulty.

It could be a couple of things, depending on the brand of headset. Generally, the steps outlined in

Xbox One Chat Headset troubleshooting would help with resolving most headset problems, so I would try those out if you haven't already.

Also, if it's some third party headset, it might help to get a Xbox One Headset Adapter, as it was designed to help with compatibility problems of any sort.

Also, what type of headset is it? Do any other controllers work with the headset? Are other people able to hear or is it a problem with both hearing and speaking using the headset?

You get the new headset with the Xbox one, so not problems!

Just bought a brand new titanfall edition controller and had the same problem. The controller refused to update with the xbox stereo headset hooked up. Looks like it's the headset/adapter that is the problem. I'm going to return the headset and try a different
one.
