Xbox one headset not working

Randomly today in party chat everyone sounded like they were whispering , they could hear me loud and clear but I couldn't hear them. I adjusted volume and it didn't work, reset xbox , switched controllers and still whispering. Any advice? Or are they just
broken..

Hi sons xbox one headset mic not working new set hard booted console told us party chat blocked also checked enforcment no issue code 0x80072EE7 can you help on headset he can hear friends but mic not working

 

It's possible that the console just needs to be power cycled. Give that a try first and see if the chat improves.

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down to power cycle.

 

I have a similar issue....

After that I did try update my controller, my headset, in any chat (group or skype) the people hear me but I don't hear them...

When I press the + button from my headset, I do hear the sound of "maximum volume", but even though the chats not working....

Help me anyone, please.

 

Has anyone found a solution to this? I have tried two controllers and every time I plug my headset adapter in I no longer can hear anyone in my party. I have updated my controllers, power cycled my xbox, I've followed all the trouble shooting tips and nothing.

Could it be a faulty adapter? I find it hard to believe that both my controllers are faulty.

I bought a new headset, nothing i tried worked. No one ever answered me either..

 

i also encountered that problem when i am not using my turtlebeach 500x headset

the solution so far that i found is IF this problem occurs after a random controller disconnection you should check in settings/devices and accessories IF you are still assigned to said wireless controller or not.

IF you are NOT assigned to the controller with your gamertag the sound and or microphone will not be streamed to your headset through the controller. and the party app wont get through to you or you to the other ppl in the chat.

to fix this you have to assign the controller to yourself again.

 

This problem was introduced with the last dashboard update, the only solution that works so far is to use a complete wireless headset like the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x, as these are not connected to the controller for the partychat/gamesound. there is also
another problem with the controllers having a disconnection problem that happens randomly.
