Xbox one headset not assigned

my xbox one headset says it connected but not assigned. It says "assigned to; not assigned"

Anyone got a Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 500X headset?

One thing I meant to ask you guys: -

When you turn your Xbox on, do you get the "Headset assigned" notification popping up, even if the headset itself is turned off?

Xbox One controller will disconnect and reconnect and then I will my headset will lose all game audio

Yes, my Xbox One controller is assigned to my gamertag. So that is not the issue. It has to do with this stereo headset adapter in general, I believe. My Xbox One controller works perfectly fine unless I have that plugged in.

I just double checked on the console here. Controllers can be assigned to people but not headsets so that's totally expected behaviour.

I just double checked on the console here. Controllers can be assigned to people but not headsets so that's totally expected behaviour.

Hi,

What is the expected behaviour with wireless headsets that use a USB transceiver? I have this exact issue and it would be great if only one controller was in use the console auto assigned the headset to that controller.

As it stands I’ve tried:

1. Connecting the controller first, then turning on the headset. It doesn’t assign & I have to manually go into the Accessories app and assign it.

2. Connect the headset first, then turn on the controller. Same thing. Does not assign.

This is frustrating and if as intended please raise as something to be fixed. We should be able to either lock a headset to a gamer tag (like we can with a controller) or have an option to assign to controller if only one connected, or even better have a
pop up dialog when an unassigned headset is detected allowing a quick assignment each time.

Things to try:

A) Turn off the console and unplug it for 30 seconds, this clears cache.

B) Assign the controller to your account.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Settings.
Select All Settings.
Under Kinect & devices, select Devices & accessories.
Select the controller. The current account assigned to that controller is indicated.
To assign the controller to another account, select the account currently assigned to it.
Select Assign to someone.
Select the account that you want to assign to the controller.

D) Use the stereo headset adapter from Xbox and plug your headset into that. Some headsets have trouble with the xbox controllers and this fixes it usually.

Check settings. Volume turned up on xBox and headset? Is headset being assigned to your account?

Try connecting headset to controller first, and then powering on the controller. Ensure the controller is assigned to your profile
