Xbox One Headset/Mic is not working properly

I have the standard Xbox One wired headset/mic. I played a few games online and connected my headset, but never heard anything. I figured no one was saying anything, so I didn't bother with it and didn't use it. Now I've started playing online more with
a friend and it appears that the headset is sketchy at best. It worked ok one night, and the next night it did if I moved everything "just so" and I could hear and talk. Sometimes my friend could hear me, sometimes he couldn't. I tried with both controllers
I have as well. The headset/mic works when I connect it with other things, such as my cell phone. That makes me think it would be the audio jack, but what are the odds that both of them have the same issue (one is standard, the other is green halo)? I'd appreciate
some assistance with this. Thanks

Mic problems on my brand new Xbox One

Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?

Sorry to hear about the issues with the headset, it might also be the connector to the headset as opposed to the jack on the controller. Have you tried another headset yet on the controller to see if that helped? Cell phones tend to have different style
jacks, so it's possible that could be the reason it worked on the phone but not the controller.

yep setting work properly… On Teamspeak it works. I have the headset Zalman ZM-HPS200. I have tested also the set online mic test and it works. But on xbox win 10 app doesnt work. I have this headset a week.

So what part isnt working? Is the audio not coming out of the speakers or is the mic not working? I know some mics might need software to run properly so plugging them straight into an xbox wont work and as far as the speakers did you go into the xbox
settings and switch the audio output to speakers instead of headset? Also the best thing i have found for a streaming headset/mic combo has been a turtle beach elite pro 2 headset and this headset doesnt have to be connected into a controller, it plugs into
a mix amp which plugs into the xbox.

I've been having trouble with my mic not working properly on one of my controllers. I figured out that my controller was the reason why my mic sounded bad. I tried to connect my mic with a better working controller and I couldn't talk. I looked at all the
settings and couldn't find an solution. I think the mic is linked to the other bad controller in some way.

is it an Xbox Official Headset (or Stereo Headset) or a third-party one? Do you use an adaptor or do use the 3,5mm jack on the controller?
