Xbox One headset issue plus quick fix

The problem:

I ran into an issue yesterday with my xbox one headset. Apparently when you power down your xbox one with the headset plugged in and the mute button is active the next time you boot up your Xbox One the mic will appear to be dead (i.e. completely unresponsive).
I tried using a different mic which I had purchased with no luck.

Hi Roberto,

Since you state that you're able to use an original chat headset without issue but this one doesn't work I don't think it's an issue with your controller.

I was looking at the setup guide for your headset -

Since the mic can be disconnected from the headset, can you try and re-seat the mic into your headset and see if that helps?

Check the mute button on the headset cable.

Also, the Xbox One controller uses the same wiring standard that Android phones use. Can you plug your headset into an Android phone and test it there?

Turtle Beach X12 headset on XBox One

If the items in those links above don't fix your issue then buy a new xbox one headset. Trust me a new xbox one headset would be your best option. A new headset would sound better and perform better then your x12s. Turtle beach has some nice headsets that
are pretty affordable.

 

Quick fix:

Unplug your Xbox One from the power outlet, wait 30-35 secondst and plug it back in. This forces the console to do a cold boot (I imagine powering it down only sends it into a standby/hibernation mode). Once the Xbox One boots up full functionality is restored.
