Xbox One Headset isn't working

Hello All,

After the update I can't use my headset, any of my friends can hear me and they said that they hear a lot of noise if I unmute my headset.

Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?

 

Wired headset isn't working

I have a wired headset with a 3.5mm end. I cannot get it to work with any of my controllers. I plug it into my phone and it works fine. If I'm in a party it says no mic can be found. At first I thought it may be the port on my controller that wasn't working.
But I'm having this issue with all my controllers. I have also tried other 3.5mm headsets and they will not work with the controller either. Yes I have checked if I'm muted and I've turned all volume controls up to no avail. I can get the old Xbox one USB
headset to work. Any one have any ideas for a fix.

 

I have the same exact issue. also my friend who just bought a brand new Xbox from GameStop is having the same problem too.

 

Try contacting a support representative in a chat. It's fast, and they are very helpful. From what it sounds like if two of you are experiencing this issue it could have already been addressed and solved. They could probably tell you what tweaking to do
in the settings.

 

Bump! Also having the same issue after the Nov update. The original xbox one mono headset works fine though.

 

Have you tried updating the controller, im having same problem as youse but wont let me update contoller and i can hear everyomne in party but no body can hear me

Just to be sure....if anyone has a third party headset...be sure its not a headset that works with an iPhone or that is OMTP.

Other than that...as in the headset worked prior to the NXOE update, I think the best advice is to contact official support chat at the bottom of the page linked above.

 

I already updated the controller and the headset it's the original one.

 

you can try doing a factory reset...ONLY IF all games and apps are on an external HD.

I was faced with this issue when an update to the Preview Program launched on October 27th; since that point I have been unable to use my Astro A40s through the headset adapter. I've tried multiple A40s, headset adapters, cable configurations, even multiple
Xbox Ones without the issue being resolved.

Each time a new update was deployed related to the NXOE, I looked for a fix to no avail. I've been reporting this problem since I first experienced the problem.

The only thing that worked was using the original microphone that was provided with the Xbox One purchase. But even that doesn't seem to work any more. This is for both parties and in-game chats (I've tested this on multiple games as well), even voice messages
do not work.

The last thing I can think of is a factory reset, and I'm not currently using an external (debating just dealing with reinstalling just for the sake of trying to get this vital feature back).

I suppose I should add that Party Chat doesn't even recognize my microphone as being plugged in; I'm still getting the "We can't find a microphone for these people" message, despite the chat adapter reacting to the pressing of the mute button (the light
turns orange, indicating that it is being properly powered). Again, this is using multiple A40s that both randomly stopped functioning on the 27th of October. This is not a mic-related concern.
