xbox one headset distortion

the problem started late in November. occasionally while playing a game the audio will get distorted. it sounds as if every audio track is on a small loop. I've tried using different controllers (plugged into the xbox and unplugged) I've tried changing the
audio settings nothing seems to help. the headphones work fine when plugged into other devices so thats not the problem. I've looked for months and i can't find anything even close to this problem.

the 360 wireless headset was awful too - distortion, interference and it was uncomfortable as hell

 

What headset should I buy for Xbox One?

so I've purchased the xbox one stereo headset. but sadly I'm getting quite a bit of distortion and static when I'm using it with batteries. but the headset itself works perfectly on my cell phone and mp3 player. i might have a faulty adapter. ill have to
goto my local microsoft store to get it checked out since online chat couldn't resolve the issue.
