    Xbox One Headset can hear people talk but cannot talk back

    Headset: Can talk but cannot hear other people.

    I wanted to try out my Headset on World of Tanks... I can see these "chat symbols" on the bottom right that tells me people are talking. So I put on my headset and start to listen. I can hear the game background noise but I cannot hear anyone talking. When
    I talk through the mic, my username pops up with a chat symbol... Any help/suggestions?

    Btw, I'm very new to Xbox. I moved from Playstation.

    Xbox one headset Not working

    i have an Xbox one and I use the remote and the headset/microphone that came with the Xbox. I used to be able to hear and talk to other players/friends then came this problem. I can hear other people talking through the headset but when I talk no one can
    hear me.. I don't knoe what is wrong please help

    HI TwiiSt3D H4LO,

    Sorry you're having problems with your mic. Is this the stereo headset or just the standard headset and mic? Please try to do the following and let us know if it works for you.

    1. Re-seat the headset in the controller, and make sure the mute is not on.

    2. Open a party by yourself and see if the mic icon lights up on the screen.

    3. Try the headset in another controller and see if it does or does not work.

    4, If this is a child account, have the adult test. If it works for the adult, please have him change the settings in Privacy and Online Safety to "Communicate with Voice and Text"

    5. Try a different app like Skype to see if this works.

    6. If none of the solutions above work you may need a new headset. If it's within the 90 day window you can go to
    https://myservice.xbox.com and request a warranty exchange.

    I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting articles:


    If the problem persists:

    • Try your Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working.
    • Try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues.
    • Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
      updating the first controlleragain.

    Try this out and let us know the results.

    Your microphone might not be working, but I recommend going to your audio setting and changing your audio output.
