  1. XBox One headset adaptor - I get NO chat audio

Is anyone else having this issue? My controller is updated, my system is updated, the chat settings are updated and either in a lobby or a party, I cannot hear anyone. People can hear me just fine but I cannot hear them.

I have the Turtle Beach X42's.

    This is extremely frustrating.

    :)

    Headset stereo adapter not working

I have been using my turtle beach x42s with the Xbox one headset adaptor for some time now. Yesterday game audio and chat would keep cutting out now I can't hear anything through it. I went and used my Xbox 360 with the headset today and it worked fine I
could hear chat and game audio. So I am pretty sure it is the adaptor that is the problem, is there anyway to fix this without haveing to buy an new headset adaptor? Any help would be appreciated.

XBox One headset adaptor - I get NO chat audio

Some of the adapters have been faulty, Microsoft has been doing replacements for a lot of people I've noticed. I assume you use the X42's for other things as well? Such as a PC or 360 or something? Does the chat work on any of those? (if applicable?)

  6. I specificallygot the X42's because Turtle Beach said those were compatible. Also my brother just purchased the new Turtle Beach XO ones or something like that. Came with the adapter, his doesn't work either.

If my headset didn't work, then why can they hear me in the game?

  7. Also, on Turtle Beach forums, there are users that have the x42's and they are working with the adapter, just getting static, etc.

  8. XBox One headset adaptor - I get NO chat audio

Weird turn of events. So out of desperation, I unplugged the xbox one adapter cord, and plugged in the ear bud headset that comes with the ps4 straight to the xbox one headset adapter. And for the first time, I could control the chat volume with the plus
and minus signs, I could click the other buttons on the adapter and they would work as well, and could hear them talking. Granted I still couldn't talk back to them. When I plug back the cord that came with the xbox one adapter, it's back to nothing on the
adapter working, volume up and down, etc and still not hearing them.

So if that is the case, wouldn't that point me in the direction of a faulty cord from Microsoft?

I think you may have a faulty adaptor unit. I'd raised an identical issue on this forum a few days ago and after much chin scratching I've decided it must be a faulty unit. Basically, as soon as I plug in a mic cable, any mic cable, I lose chat audio. As
you've described, other people can hear me so that mic is working fine. So I think the adaptor is detecting that a mic and for some reason is cutting chat audio out of the SP/DIF out. Sounds more like a software issue than a hardware issue to me but I've not
managed to source a replacement to test the theory.

  10. It's horrible - all this extra crap added onto the controller and still doesn't work right.

Might have a fix for you on the chat issue though. Is your turtle beach plugged via optical cable directly to the xbox one?

So, I also had this issue with a separate pair of Tritton headphones (AX360s) and thought the issue was a faulty adaptor. Well, I exchanged for a replacement adaptor today and still had the same issue.

My setup was that I needed all audio, including chat audio, to be output via the SP/DIF but with the MIC in going through the headset adaptor. Chat audio would cut out from the SP/DIF as soon as I plugged my MIC in but people could hear me once I did that.
So I reckon this is a software issue where the adaptor incorrectly thinks I've plugged in a headset that should get chat audio from the headset adaptor direct (i.e. like the official xbox stereo headset).

Took both adaptors back in the end for a refund.

SO I hope people do have the chat turned up and not the game turned up to max cause....I'm just saying its right there on the adapter.

I think most are setting up things correctly, but just not reading how to use the adapter. The left side is game and chat volume levels. the right is master volume of both.

  14. My adapter worked perfectly fine until last night when I downloaded the system update beta. I can no longer hear anybody but they can hear me. SO FRUSTRATING.

    Xbox One S - 1st gen controller - Headset/adapter not working

Which adaptor do you have? The official Xbox adaptor, or the Turtle Beach adaptor?

Both work in a similar way, but control slightly differently. Both of them work via the physical buttons, the headset audio menu only opens if you plug a headset directly into one of the Xbox One controllers with a 3.5mm audio port.

    What should i do?

check out this link it should help you to get your headset working thanks -> Chat headset Setup

more than likely you just have it muted. if using the adaptor check you have not muted it there. if not you will need to check your audio settings and preference.
