So after reading some reviews I decided to go with the steelseries instead of the a50's as most people were saying the sound quality was a little superior, blah blah.

Thanks for the answers about the profiles, took me a minute to figure that all out. Strange, but once I set up a "profile" chat started working fine, and MAN does that steelseries mic sound super clear, way louder and clearer than the kinect or the mic that
    comes in the box.

My question, since those steelseries support is pretty much none...

Is how is the sound for all of you guys?

For me its nice and crisp and clear, I can hear a lot of things in game I hadnt payed attention to before. BUT, all the reviews I read on the headset say "has rich, throbbing bass"

the headset I got, the bass is almost non existent when compared to other headsets. The ps3 stereo headset has more bass than these.

I am not complaining about it as the sound is still very high quality, and realize these were meant for gaming, not for music listening etc, and because of the eq on them you can very easily hear things like footsteps and gunshots that would rather wise
    be drowned out by bass..

I am just asking to make sure I didnt get a headset with problems out of the box or anything.

Is the bass on your guys headphones pretty toned down compared to other headsets, especially when playing titanfall, or do yours push out some pretty monstrous bass?

If its how they are, great, not worried about it. If you tell me yours has tons of bass and sounds like a dr beats headset or something, then yeah I need to sent mine back.

Also any tips on set up suggestions for them?

I tried messing with a few options on the console itself but for now I think I get the best sound just having it stereo out through optical, with the Dolby turned on the steelseries transmitter.

    Thanks a lot guys,

no gripe with headset at all, just wanted to make sure my headset was sounding how it is supposed to and not missing some head rattling bass or anything. Thanks

Yeah the bass is pretty lacking on these but like you I'm satisfied. I also emailed customer support for steelseries about the loudness but they said because of new regulations the loudness is limited.

    Xbox One Headset Adapter

I am a convert from playstation and i am still confused why i need an adapter and a cable to get mic chat to work with my wireless headset. is everyone just used to having to connect a cable from their headset to the controller? i really hate this.

the headset base is connected to the xb1 via usb... this seems like a software issue to me, if i can transmit audio wirelessly why can chat not be transmitted to the base and by extension the xb1?

    Hey there Lord Ladewig!

I'm sorry to hear about the audio issue. The original issue in this thread is a bit different than what you're describing, so I would suggest to create a new thread detailing what you're experiencing along with any troubleshooting steps you've already tried.
This way you can receive support catered specifically to you. Thanks!

•Some third-party products come with a stereo headset adapter that may look different from the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter made by Microsoft, but they all function the same way.

•You can only connect an Xbox 360 Chat Headset using the stereo headset adapter with a 2.5-mm to 3.5-mm converter, which comes with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter. The Xbox One Stereo Headset does not include this adapter cable.

The Xbox One does not support USB headset, the console only supports wired connection to the controller via the 3.5 mm jack or with the Xbox One headset adapter. which connects to the bottom of the controller, or you can use a wireless headset which connects
straight to the Xbox One wireless connection. Your best bet would be to purchase the Xbox One headset adapter.
