  1. Xbox One Headset Adapter

I purchased the Xbox One headset adapter today. I have a SteelSeries H Wireless headset that is supposed to be compatible with the Xbox One and for chat to work it needed the adapter. The surround sound seems to work, but when I plug the cord, both the
3.5mm and 2.5mm wires, the controller with stop working and the Xbox freezes after a couple of minutes. The headset works fine when the wire is not plugged in. The controller will work, even with the adapter still attached. Only when the headset is connected
by a wire to the controller for chat to work does the controller stop working and the console freezes. The batter is fully charged and I even used the charging cable at the same time just in case not enough power was coming from the battery. There seems
to be nothing online about this and it is very frustrating because this expensive headset that sounds great on my Xbox will only work with chat if I spent extra money on an adapter, but the crashes with the headset. If someone else is having this issue, I
would like to know if there has been any fixes because this is really irritating. Thanks.

    :)

Did you follow the procedure to update the firmware on your controller?

Im having the same issue. Where did you get the wire to connect the adaptor and headset? I tried all the wires that came with the steelseries h and the only one that fit was the 3.5mm on both ends. I had to plug it in the 'share' plug of the headset. Is
that something i need to buy 2.5/3.5mm cable? Thanks for the help

P.s Did you perform the manual controller update with the adaptor and headset plugged in with the wire you have? Make sure to also have the controller mini usb connected to the usb of xb1 on the other end to perform the update.

Jet there should have been a wire that came with the headset adapter. Don't use share use the chat. Share is for connecting another steelseries headset. The issue I'm having is with chat. When I plug in the adapter I loose all chat. I can hear game sounds
no chat. I may just use the Kinect for voice because steelseries customer support is nonexistent

'LB The Truth' you also have the wireless steelseries H headset? Try checking on the Steelseries website to see if there is a firmware update. If u do have the H wireless did u try to play around with the module box settings? I just got it yestetday but
i saw a toggle to adjust the balance between having the volume up more on game sound or chat, hope that helps.

P.s so ur saying the xb1 adaptor came with the wire I need to plug into the 'chat' of the steelseries (which is really small and thin) to the 3.5mm xb1 adaptor? I didnt even check the box good, I hope its there...

Yes it's in the box along with a mini USB. I can get it to work fine with ps4. Even completely wireless. But xbone I'm having issues. I don't think there is a update on steelseries site but it's impossible to make contact with them.

For the xbone all i did was plug the module power cord up. Plug in the optical to the xbone to the module. Setup the xbox source on the module and selected optical in instead of analog in. From then on I was able to at least hear feedback from my xbone wirelessly.
Hearing twitch, games, the movement of the controller clicks. If u did these and u cant at least hear anything wirelessly try and run some more test, if not exchange it, if u can. But doing these steps I got audio wirelessly from xb1. Now to try and find that
wire and see if the chat feature works ingame with the adaptor on my end.

I can hear audio. It's just chat I can't hear. So if I'm in a lobby it's like I have everyone muted. As soon as I pull the chord from the adapter I hear others talking. They can hear me through Kinect

Did you follow the steps i mentioned in the previous post about updating the controller with the adaptor, headset and usb from the controller to the xb1 all connected?

OK I've figured it out. Because I have both the ps4 and xbox connected I was using a splitter. I never maid a Xbox source in the settings. Once I added a Xbox source it now working

Did anyone ever figure this out? I'm having the same exact issue with the Steelseries Wireless H. Just to make sure i even plugged my TB PX5's in the same exact way and those work perfectly. Once i wire everything back up to the Wireless H's i have this
issue. I know it's not the headset because it works perfectly on the PS4. This really sucks

Godless what worked for me is I had to use the Xbox adapter that came with the Steelseries headset with the adapter. The turtle beach chat cable does not work with the steelseries. It works fine with my px5 connected to the adapted but for some reason
the turtle beach chat cable doesnt work with steelseries h wireless.

Also if you are using both ps4 and xbox you have to set up the two profiles on the steelseries hub. One for xbox and one for playstation.
