xbox one headset adapter question

Discus and support xbox one headset adapter question in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; i have a tritton trigger headset so i was wondering if i have to connect the 3.5mm jack directly into the adapter or first connect it to that volumes...     i have a tritton trigger headset so i was wondering if i have to connect the 3.5mm jack directly into the adapter or first connect it to that volumes brick and then the 2.5mm jack into the cable adapter and then that to the adapter

    Ok, 1st question. Have you updated your controllers firmware with the headset plugged in?

    Another question, have you toggled the mute button to make sure you don't have yourself muted?

    If I understand your question...

    Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

    A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

    (The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

    The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too

    Hi Young Wu,

    To answer your question, yes the stereo headset adapter can be used on the 1st generation Xbox One controller. The headset adapter can be used for pretty much any Xbox One controller because the port is located at the bottom of every controller.

    The first generation controllers don't have the 3.5 mm port for audio jacks so only headsets with the adapter can be used for those controllers.

    If im understanding the question correct but not sure your looking for an adapter to convert an Xbox one standard headset jack down to the size they used for the 360 i just had that question asked at work yesterday and to my knowledge no such adapter exists
