    Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

You guys aren't setting up your headsets correctly.

You need to hold down the chat volume control until you can't hear game audio anymore, and you will hear a beep. Then you need to turn up the volume button on the top right, until it beeps. Your headset adapter now, no longer, encodes audio.

Your MixAmp and transmitters now work as they should.

I found out that turning down the game volume on the adapter all the way down and using the headset to control the volume fixes the game sound. As far as using the chat volume on the adapter.. It works ok

I still think it could sound better as far as quality. comparing between my modded headset adapter I made using the the chat headset that came with the Xbox one, I think the one I made sounds better. I bought the adapter because I wanted to use the game/chat
controls on it but as of now I feel like I just wasted $25.

Maybe they'll have an update later that will let you use the adapter controls like I though you could.

Or even better come out with a bluetooth adapter to use like on the 360

If you cannot get the adapter's mute button to turn off, you need to follow these steps exactly to update your firmware. Make sure you take out your batteries when you connect it.

Updating the Xbox One controller firmware

To use the adapter with an Xbox One controller, you first need to update the controller firmware.

    Perform the following steps.

    1. Confirm that your Xbox One console is powered on.

    2. Open the battery compartment on the back of the Xbox One controller and remove the batteries.

    3. Insert the Xbox One Audio Adapter into the Xbox One Controller.

    4. Insert the cable from your headset firmly into the headset jack of the Xbox One Audio Adapter.

    5. Plug the big end of the USB cable supplied with the Xbox One Controller into the USB port on the side of the

    console.

    6. Plug the small end of the USB cable into the top of the controller.

    7. Follow the on-screen instructions from your Xbox One console to update the firmware.

NOTE: Do not disconnect your controller or turn off your Xbox One console while the update is in progress.

    8. When the update is complete, unplug the USB cable from the controller and replace the batteries.

    9. Press the Xbox button on the controller to turn it back on.

NOTE: Confirm that all connections are firmly inserted.

  6. The problem im having is the sound quality is crap! No bass, and everything sounds like i'm in a hallway. Im using the x32. I'm worried if I buy a new headset made for the One it's the same adapter and I'll just have a more expensive problem. Any help?

Hello all. If you guys are still having this problem then read this. Most likely its your xbox headset adapter. My adapter did the same thing i cant talk but i can get audio from it just fine. i found plugging in your mic in and out real fast, you can chat
with people... when you plug it in completely it stops working... so thats one way to chat if you really want to pug it in and out a million times. Here are some options for replacing the adapter. Option one: You will need to return the adapter (in box and
everything else) to the place of purchase, they should swap it out for you. Option 2: If not option one, send it into Microsoft but it will take 4 weeks for repairs... Option 3: buy a new one.... so if you found this helpful please give this a thumbs up and
    add me on xbox one:

I love it when I purchase a $100 pair of xo fours for a better game experience only to have it degrade and frustrate my online gaming. Just decided not to use the headset and go old school. I know turtle beach has a good reputation but don't say that your
headsets are compatible if they are not working correctly with xbox one. I think most of the blame has to go to xbox though. I have used headsets since 360 first came out and had no issues and suddenly all kinds of them. Hey xbox, just admit you *** up and
give us some statement showing that you care about your community and want to keep your customers. The only reason I am with xbox is the games not b/c I feel like a cared for customer. Oh and bye the way; to be a smart billion dollar corporation you (Microsoft/Xbox)
do some of the dumbest things. Thanks for releasing an update that we can spend more money on only to ruin our gaming experience and then making us feel like you understand our frustrations by NOT releasing a statement telling us you are working on it. WAIT!!!
Maybe we (Xbox Faithful) are the dumb ones for sticking with you and not jumping ship to Sony. PLEASE fix this!!!

    Xbox One Headset Adapter Problems

how can adding an adapter to an adapter to another adapter ever work and what was so wrong with offering a Bluetooth controller that just worked with everything.

The chatting on 360 while gaming and while taking phone calls or listening to music from phone is a great experience with zero wires. Now the X1 seems like a device from 20 years ago with wires and adapters everywhere.

Then to put out an Xbox Stereo only headset is an embarrassment. For me surround sound was the biggest advance in gaming and movies over the years and adds so very much.

Ever since I started using this new headset adapter its been nothing but a headache. To start, my controller turns off randomly. Its always proceeded with the game audio cutting in and out. It tells me to reconnect my controller and press A. I need to remove
the batteries and put them back for it to turn on again. I'm positive its not the batteries and the headsets still works fine with the 360. I bought the XO fours initially and returned them because they had a loud static noise while scrolling through menus,
dashboard or in game. The XO fours did not cut in and out or turn off though. Another reason I returned them was I couldn't deal with the horrible design of the game vs. chat audio controls on the adapter. How hard was it to make an up and down volume control
for the game and chat independent of each other. I thought I would be able to remedy this problem by going back to my X12s, which has its own volume controls on the wire. Since I plugged in the X12s to the adapter their audio controls don't work right. The
game volume does nothing and the chat volume controls both game and chat equally. This makes adjusting my volumes a 2 minute ordeal. On top of that the chat volume doesn't get very loud to begin with.

How hard could all this be after all these years of consoles working good, now that we have the "next generation systems" there are so many seemingly simple things going wrong or flat out over looked. This is only the tip of the iceberg of the issues I've
    been having with my X1.

My kids have been chatting all day long on the 360 with out any issues at all. Xbox really *** up a good thing and its really sad.

They need to come up with a solution for sure and get our wireless turtle beach headsets working again.
