  2. Will the xbox one headset adapter make the controller output game sound in any headset?

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter used a 3.5mm, 4 pole phone plug. Which has both game and chat sound to stereo headset and mike output. The connection on the 3.5mm, 4 pole phone plug are: left, right, mike, ground.

  3. Headsets ?

Turtle Beach Headsets for both Xbox One and PS4 will be available at launch of their related systems. And considering this, if you look at the description for the new TB Headsets, it even says it comes with a chat adapter to use for the XBox One controllers.
Indicating they will still be cross compatible with PC as well as the X1.

    Connections:

    • Xbox One Audio Connection: 3.5mm via Xbox One Audio Adapter
    • Mobile Device Connection: Stereo 3.5mm
    Package Contents:

    • XO SEVEN Headset with Removable Mic Boom
    • Xbox One Audio Adapter
    • 3.5mm 4-pole Audio Adapter Cable
    • 3.5mm 4-pole Mobile Adapter Cable with inline Mic
    • Quick Start Guide
    • Turtle Beach Sticker

So with this said, I am sure there will be an adapter available through Turtle Beach for older Headsets. Or at least sold separately that could be easily used with current headsets as the plug size is no different than the current one.

    Question about Chat Adapter Cable

Well, I think I know the problem...

What I believe I need is a converter with a:

    - Female 3 pole (2 ring) 2.5mm

    - Male 4 pole (3 ring) 3.5mm

The headsets I'm using (my panasonic one and the xbox 360 mono one) are both 3 pole (2 ring) 2.5mm headsets. I'm guessing that the cables I'm using are meant for 4 pole (3 ring) 2.5mm headsets.

I think I'll call and/or tweet xbox support to see if they have any information about this...

If ANYONE on these forums knows of a place where I can get a cable like this...please let me know :)

Xbox 360 mic on the 1??

The Xbox 360 headset has a 2.5mm jack plug and the Xbox One controller has a 3.5mm jack. I haven't tested it and not sure if it would work but you could plug your headset into 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter cable.

Xbox One Chat Adapter jack broken... again.

i am looking for the same, i know that it has to be a 2.5mm female to 3.5mm male, 4 pole TRSS adapter. Similar to the ones used for phones. I cannot find one in the UK anywhere.

    Headset

Are you talking about Turtle Beach headsets for Xbox 360 controllers?

Well, the Xbox 360 controller has a 2.5mm headset port, whereas the Xbox One controller has a
3.5mm headset port, so the existing headset you've used for your Xbox 360 won't be compatible with Xbox One (right off the bat).

Your headset would still work on Xbox One with a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm adapter.
