Xbox one headset adapter + Apple earpods

I just bought the 3.5mm headset adapter and want to use my Apple EarPods with it. The internet says I should update my controller but that hasn't worked. My friends say all they hear is buzzing but i hear them fine

And yes, the Apple Headset Jacket of all Apple gadgets uses CTIA standard..

The iPhone and Macbook Pro uses CTIA standard.

And the Apple Earpods uses CTIA standard.

So, the Z11 will be compatible with Stereo Headset Adapter.

Questions about Apple Earbods for Voice Chat on the Xbox One

Is it even possible to use my Apple earpods for voice chat on the Xbox One? I've looked at a lot of tutorials showing how to do it and how to fix some screeching sound that occurs when plugging the earpods in. However, some people are saying that the Apple
earpods don't even work for voice chat or that they can only hear the audio and that you need the Xbox One Stereo Headset adapter. I'm not sure if this is true because some people say it does work by using the adapter while some say it doesn't. So now I am
at a total loss. I need a straight answer to this question: Would using my Apple earpods allow me to talk to other people in voice chats or would I need the Xbox One Stereo Adapter for them to hear me, or would people not be able to hear me regardless?

 

Are you saying that the controller update process didn't fix the issue or that it didn't complete?

The mic won't work. You'll only be able to use them as headphones (with the above fix).
