    Hi

    So like countless others i'm facing this problem again... The mic icon in right hand corner has a line through it and my headset won't work...

    I had this problem before and i had to buy a new controller to get the headset working, now 3 months later and again i have the same problem, WTH...

    I tried all those Youtube fixes but none worked for me...

    I' hoping there is a fix cause i don't want to spend another $50 on a new controller when i just bought one...

    Please Microsoft help us out here this is becoming ridiculous!

    Optical Headphones - looking to attach a mic *only* for party chat

    Hello,

    I have an xbox one x, and a really good set of optical sennheiser headphones.

    These are $400 headphones, and sound great with the xbox (and everything else). I prefer the headphones for great sound, and to keep quiet in the house.

    I would like to add *just* a mic, that I can use for party chat. Something that clips on to my shirt, or on to the headphones.

    I do not really want to use a PC mic, and create parties on the PC. I want to attach something to the xbox one x controller.

    There may not be an "official" way to do this, but I would be interested in anyone's setup, someone that has successfully done this preferably (with a set of optical headphones that have no mic).

    Am I understanding that I need to attach a Y cable to the controller, which contains a spot for both headphones and a spot for a mic? In my situation, I believe I would just let the headphones cable dangle with nothing attached (since my headphones are already
    attached optical), and attach the mic. Does not seem very elegant.

    Do Xbox 360 Gaming Headphones Play Game Sounds?

    So I had an Xbox 360 headset, the one with a Mic and one headphone. A few days ago, the Mic kept cutting out and it was time to replace it with something else. And so I thought, how about Full Over-Ear Gaming headphones with a built-In Mic that were
    made for Xbox 360? So I went on Amazon and EBay and looked for some. Then I did some research on some forums and found out that the port on the controller is for Voice Communications ONLY. So basically, I need a separate Mic for my controller and headphones
    for game sounds directly plugged into the TV. in this case, buying headphones with a mic would be a waste because I would only be able to hear voice chat in them and game sounds would be muffled. Then I was thinking, "Why would they sell Pro Xbox 360 gaming
    headphones if they only play voice chat?" then I looked and found there are other little ports next to the one in the middle on the Xbox 360 controller and thought maybe the headphones had something to do with that. So my question is: Can I get Full gaming
    headphones with a Mic and hear both Voices AND game sounds in them? Please help me as I can't afford to buy expensive headphones only to have them not work correctly.

    It works! I did a couple of things so, it may have been one. But there was a headphone update. And then when I went to settings in COD, the mic sensitivity was up to 96. Once I lowered it by a lot everyone could hear me. It was set so that if I wasn't screaming into the mic at the top of my lungs the mic would not recognize me me talking.

    Hi there,

    When the audio headphones are plugged into the AV receiver, there is game sound, but I cant hear anyone in my party chat. I only see their gamertag show up in the chat overlay. They hear me thru the stream mic just fine. In Halo 5, setting audio to Speaker,
    or to Headphones doesnt change anything.

    If I plug the headphones into the Turtle Beach stream mic, its onboard amplifier does a decent job driving the audio headphones, since the stream mic is powered via USB, but the amplifier is low quality by comparison to my AV receiver. I only got the stream
    mic so I could use my AV receiver to listen to my audio headphones in online gaming. I never expected or planned on using it to power the headphones.

    Can I even can plug the Sennheiser game headphones into the AV receiver and the Mic into the controller now? If this stream mic is already connected to the XBOX via USB, and chat is only available when the headphones are connected into the stream mic and
    both run to the XBOX wired via USB, is it correct to assume that PC gaming headphones with a built in mic also cannot be split (the mic connected to the controller and chat sound coming through the AV receiver)? Im starting to think both the headphones and
    the mic must be connected to the controller together, communicating to the XBOX wirelessly, or ill just get game sound through the headphones and no chat like I am niw with this set up?

    This. I have the same exact problem. Xbox one controller will not turn on the xbox with the headphones plugged in. It will not be recognized by the xbox at all, even if powered up and the xb button is pressed.

    With headphones removed the controller acts normally and will turn the system on.

    I hope somebody has an answer as to if I have a defective controller or headphone.
