XBOX One uses which HDMI version 1.3 or 1.4 or 2.0?

I’m using the HDMI cord that came with my X, which is supposedly HDMI 2.0. I’ve also tried the HDMI from my Xbox One S. OS version is 10.0.17133.2020

Mini-HDMI is just the regular HDMI pinout in smaller form factor. Strange that your monitor uses mini-HDMI, but you don't need a special adapter. You would just need to get an HDMI-to-mini HDMI cable. For a monitor of that caliber (and price), it had better
at least come with one of these cables!

You also mentioned it's HDMI is version 2.0. HDMI 2.0 is the required version for the Xbox One S/X to output 4K@60Hz with HDR, so it
should display without a problem. The things you read about some monitors only supporting up to 4K@30Hz is because their HDMI ports are version 1.4.

Higher resolution. 1.4 totally supports 3D while 1.3 can only do 1080i.

That isn't true that HDMI 1.3 only supports up to 1080i. HDMI 1.0 supported 1080p at 60Hz. The versions as they were released added higher bandwidth capabilities, higher bit color spaces and high bit rate audio streaming but 1-1.3 were all capable of at
least 1080p at 60Hz for video. The Xbox One would be rated at 1.4a or b if it were 3D capable, but should currently be considered 1.4 as it will support 4K output but not the 3D.

I see now when I look at your response that you were talking about 1.3 vs. 1.4 with regard to 3D only. The question though was what version of HDMI does the Xbox One support. Where is the info about 1080i 3D from? The wiki says that 1.3 doesn't support 3D
at all. Thanks

The HDMI consortium technically did away with version numbers on consumer equipment. Not all features of all HDMI revisions must be supported on all devices. Conversely, things can be added to an existing product (like 3D on the 360) that didn't exist when
a product originally hits the market.

 

Standard HDMI supports 1080i and 720p.

High speed HDMI supports 1080p.

1.3 Cat 2 is, if I recall correctly, high speed HDMI and supports 1080p. High speed 1.4 supports ARC, 3D, 4k, and Ethernet.

Don't quote me on that, been a while since I worked in retail. Lol.

 

The HDMI consortium did away with version numbers only for cables with the ratings consisting of 2 categories, High Speed and Standard. Cables marketed as version 1.3 or 1.4 are not allowed and doing so means the manufacturer is not in compliance with licensing
agreements or is not even licensed. The numbering scheme (1.3, 1.4 and 2.0) is still allowed in consumer equipment and is used in marketing and advertising to denote incorporation of chipsets in players, receivers and TVs.

 

Pretty sure a high speed 1.3 doesn't support 3D though, so wouldn't the categories be necessary in this regard? Technically they still exist in the industry if only to give people an idea of what that particular cable does.

With that said I can see why they would do away with it all with companies trying to play a customer into buying expensive cables they simply didn't need.
