Xbox one Hdmi to Rca Adapter HELP

Xbox 360 no hdmi Signal

So I have the old original white xbox 360. I'm using a hdmi cord to my monitor and works fine.

As soon as i plug in an RCA audio adapter the hdmi signal gets dropped.

I'm using the dongle to get optical sound for my astro a40's.

So the problem is why is my xbox not giving my monitor video via hdmi when this type of rca dongle is connected. The xbox continually recycles "keeps turning on but no video".

Any help much apprecieated.

It will not work. Don't be fooled. You need a converted to change the signal fro. Digital to analog. Best way is to use dvi with optical if you are able. Otherwise hdfury.com claims they can satisfy your request, however it will cost you over $400 in
adapters/ cables.

If you check on eBay you can typically find used or OEM HDMI AV adapters for $5 - $10. The HDMI AV adapter has one end that is thin enough to fit into the AV port alongside the HDMI port. The other end has a breakout with left/right RCA jacks for analog
audio and an optical audio port.

Other than that, you'll need an RCA to <something> audio cable. Usually it's an RCA to stero mini-plug adapter cable. They're pretty cheap and can be found on Amazon, Monoprice, and other cabling sites.

To be able to play in HD on a computer monitor, you will need to be connecting over a HDMI or DVI connection, meaning your monitor must have one of those ports. The PVR (The GE version at least) only has HDMI so what you will need to do is connect the Console
to the PVR, and the PVR to the monitor via HDMI. That would provide video support. As far as audio, Microsoft came out with a "HDMI Audio video dongle adapter" with the HDMI kits, it plugs into the AV port of your Xbox and has output options of RCA and Optical.
So if your external spearkers are the 3.5mm jack, you will need a RCA to 3.5 adapter as well.

I think I just bought the same monitor and am now having the same problem. However, as FearedNightmare posted, I have the Optical RCA Adapter, but the image is still not showing up.

So my setup is HDMI connecting the Xbox 360 (original, but not elite) to the monitor and then the Optical RCA Adapter plugged in as well which is connected to the speakers. Still, as long as the Optical RCA Adapter is plugged into the Xbox, there is no image.
