Xbox one HDMI ports, short length cable, small head with long tipped connector recommendations?

Urgh, I'm so fed up of these HDMI ports on the Xbox one, really ruins the enjoyment.

Completely ridiculous this made it through quality testing, recessed HDMI ports, then recessed plastic casing too, so the HDMI barely makes a connection, someone only has to sneeze or walk in the room and the connection flickers off and on, URGH!

Yeah I'm using a different cable, works for everything else, blatently the poor design on the back of the Xbox, even the official cable is very loose, I only need 0.5/1m cable as it plugs straight into a HDMI switch box above it.

I have the same problem on the HDMI input too.

Can anyone recommend a source for an HDMI cable with a small head, and an extra long tipped HDMI connector on the end, in a variety of lengths such as 0.5/1/2/3/4/5m? Available in the UK or online with shipping to the UK?

    :)

Sounds like you may have a damaged HDMI cable, try changing that, if it is a Monster HDMI cable, they have a lifetime warranty and will replace the cable for you. The HDMI port on the television may be damaged, which can happen, I have seen it happen myself,
try a different HDMI port and do not use a HDMI connector box that allows many HDMI connections to be put into one HDMI port.

Xbox one HDMI ports, short length cable, small head with long tipped connector recommendations?

Hmm, can't edit anymore so will reply to myself.

Just measured it, so the inner HDMI connector from as far back inside it as possible to the end of its metal connector is 6 millimetres deep, then there's 4 millimetres it's recessed back into the housing, plus another millimetre for the "rectangle" recess.
The rectangle recess is 2 millimetres away left and right and 3 millimetres away top and bottom from the connector which will get in the way of most HDMI "heads" as they tend to have wide heads on connectors.

You can see the official Xbox one cable is designed for the rectangular recess and the length of the connector I make out to be about 9 millimetres so by my calculations even the official cable is a millimetre short and that's flush so ideally should add
another millimetre or two (look at other HDMI ports sometimes you can even see some of the HDMI connector even fully inserted).

Checking my HDMI cable, it only looks to be 8, maybe 8 1/2 millimetres long of the connector and the head shape I thought would hold it back that extra millimetre from the rectangular recess, but actually it does fit, however as I look at it, the surface
where the HDMI connector comes out of the cable "head" doesn't look completely even to me.

Of course any other device that doesn't recess it's ports in the housing this wouldn't be a problem.

Maybe I should try a 270 degree adapter so it comes out and points up, anyone tried one of those in the back of an Xbox one? Still need one that's 10 - 12 millimetres long connector tip. Worried of the extra plastic will put a strain on it, but do like the
angle idea as less stress on the HDMI socket in the Xbox one.

For a test I plugged the official Xbox one HDMI cable into the leading competitor console and you clearly see 3 millimetres worth of the connector with it fully inserted. With the same short 0.5 cable I'm using you can see 2 millimetres. I never have a problem
with picture or sound drop out with it, same cable, same HDMI switch box.

    HDMI cable hunt continues.

    XBOX Elite controller dock

unfortunately i dont think there is a dock for your needs, one thing you could possibly look into getting is some kind of controller dock and then getting a small length usb cable that splits into 2 mini usb connectors so you dont have cables trailing
and it also then only uses 1 usb port on your xbox, hopefully thta idea is of some help?

Xbox 360S short circuits my houses electrics

Hi, I don't suppose you have both the hdmi cable and a/v cables connected at the same time? Or something else plugged into the a/v port at the same time as the hdmi lead. If so could it be that both leads are touching and shorting out.

Something else to check is that you are pushing the power connector in as far as it will go so it's not shorting out also.

Xbox will not fully turn on

Check the steps in Setup new system solution and Console
    wont power on solution
    support pages.

Step 5: Connect the console to your TV

The Xbox One S console system includes one HDMI cable. You can use this cable to connect the console to an HDMI-compatible TV or HDTV. Here's how:

    1. Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on your console (the leftmost HDMI port on the back of your console).
    2. Connect the other end of the cable to the HDMI input on your TV.
Note: If the included HDMI cable isn’t long enough, we recommend finding a n “HDMI Premium Certified Cable” of the appropriate length. If you need a cable that’s 50 feet or longer, you may want an “Active High-Speed HDMI Cable”.
