  1. Xbox One HDMI "port" not working

I called Microsoft support about this issue July 14th, we tried all the trouble shooting steps except trying a new TV. The lady told me she sent an email with the addiional troubleshoot instructions, so within 10 minutes of the call ending I replied to the
email to confirm that switching TVs did not resolve the "no signal" error. I know it is not infact the HDMI cord that is the issue, because I can use these cords with my Xbox 360 fine. I am struggling to schedule a phone call from support even though I'm replying
to the emails telling when is the best time for a phone call (time zone included). I've received at least 3 messages telling me to expect a phone at a certain time, and support is not calling like they said they would. I received one phone call, but I declinded,
because I was not told in advanced to expect a call from an unknown number. I haven't received a email since July 20th, but XboxSupport on twitter has given me a link to request chat or voice support. Neither worked, I tired yesterday and today, eventually
after about 30 minutes the chat will just inform me nobody is avliable. I'm trying to be patient, but I feel as if I have been console banned, I would just like to play my xbox for the summer until I go off to college Xbox One HDMI "port" not working :)

  3. How can I use my laptop as a monitor?

Unless your device has a specific "HDMI In" port, you are not able to use HDMI hardware. Unfortunately, Laptops almost never have HDMI In ports.

Xbox One HDMI "port" not working

Hi, it appears you may have tried pretty much everything there is to try.

The obvious things can sometimes be easily missed though, the HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI port nearest to the power lead on the Xbox?

If you have any external devices such as a Kinect or external hard drive/ USB flash drive connected to the Xbox then power the Xbox off and disconnect those items and try the Xbox again.

Maybe try resetting the display settings if you haven't already, you do that by ejecting any disc that is in the drive, press and hold the power button on the Xbox for 10 seconds, the Xbox will power off. Press and hold the power button and the eject button,
you will hear a power on tone, keep the buttons held until you hear a second power on tone and then let the buttons go.

  5. Yes, the HDMI port is nearest to power port. Attempting to do the dispaly settings reset, the second beep never occurs after a minute. I have no external devices.

To add on to what EggsBoxJuan was saying this link will let you learn about the console and it's ports.

    support.xbox.com/.../get-to-know-console

It's always a possibility you gotten a faulty xbox and since you just noticed this i assume you just purchased it therefore you are under warranty and can get a replacement.

If you bought this console a while back then scheduling repairs can also be a answer.

Xbox One and Digital TV Question

    Hello C0nd1t10nR3D,

How the Xbox One works with being able to control the TV is that the Xbox One has a HDMI In port and a HDMI Out port. If a person had a cable set-top box, they would take the HDMI cable from that and plug it into the HDMI In port on the Xbox One, and then
connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI Out port and connect that to the TV.

In your case, I think it could only work if your TV had both a HDMI Out port and a HDMI In port. If this is the case, which I don't ever think I've heard of a thing for just a TV (I guess it could be possible), then you would go from the TV's HDMI Out port
to the Xbox One's HDMI In port and from the Xbox One's HDMI Out port to the TV's HDMI In port.

I hope I have answered your question!

    HDMI mode not supported

If the Xbox is working with the same HDMI cable on a different TV, then that would lead me to believe the HDMI port on the TV in question is bad. I had a bad HDMI port on my TV as well that just went out one day. If it works on another TV with the same
HDMI cable then I would say the Port on the TV has quit working.

XBOX ONE and what it means for us without cable boxes?

VV, you state that the "Xbox One will have an HDMI out port" and that is true.

But i think that it will not work if you connect your cable box to this port.

That's why they made a "HDMI in port", yeah smart people at M$

Does anyone know if the HDMI pass through will work when the XB1 is off?

Get a 1xHDMI IN to 2xHDMI OUT splitter and a total of 4 HDMI leads.

    1. Plug the HDMI lead from your cable box into the HDMI IN port on the splitter

    2. Plug a HDMI lead into one HDMI OUT port on the splitter and into the HDMI IN port on you xbox

    3. Plug another HDMI lead from the Xbox One into HDMI 1 on your TV (lie normal)

    4. Plug one last HDMI lead from the other HDMI OUT port port on the splitter to HDMI 2 on the TV

Now you "should" have the Xbox One on HDMI 1 with TV and all the bells and whistles but if you use HDMI 2 then you should still have access to TV directly. Please note I haven't tried this yet (sitting here waiting for my Xbox) but I might have to if my
wife hates using it through the Xbox, however I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
