Xbox One HDD buzzing sound

Picked up a new kinect free console yesterday. Set it up but it started making a loud buzzing sound from the hdd after the initial system update. I returned this unit and tried another one.

This next unit does the same thing. Basically if you're on the home menu the buzzing sound starts. But here is where it gets weird. If you start any game from the hdd the buzzing stops. However return to the home menu and quit the game and the buzzing resumes.
Curiously enough if you just suspend the game to the home menu the buzzing doesn't restart. Only when you quit will it begin again.

Normal operation or a defect? Kinect free console with good ventilation. Any advice/info is much appreciated!

New 320GB HDD makes loud buzzing & freezes xbox?

Hello,

I have recently bought a new xbox 360 320GB HDD and transferred all my data via the transfer cable, now it makes a loud buzzing sound a freezes my xbox! It has all my data on there and I don't know what to do. I've tried unplugging it and re-attaching
it to the transfer cable to transfer my data back to the original HDD, it still makes the loud buzzing sound!.

PLEASE HELP!!

I had to watch the video a few times to hear the noise because it seemed so quiet. Is it rather quiet? Or did the video just not pick up the sound overly well?

At any rate, from what I was able to hear it doesn't sound overly concerning, although if it's super load then it would be more concerning.

I have the same problem exactly, only not a buzzing noise. It's more of a clicking clickity noise. Sounds kind of like a busy hard drive but I am not sure if that's what it is. Doesn't help if you are in apps like Netflix. Only starting a game stops the
noise. Very weird. Bought this console 3 days ago. Mine is Kinect free as well.

got the same problem, on my third right now. kinect free as well. have discussed to ms customer service, they only say that i should go and replace it, they say faulty components and such, so a bug fix wouldn't help

we have a lot of Threads open with the same issue. maybe you cann look there too.

We are sorry you are having issues - I will try and give you the best advice/solutions as possible, First I need to know if it's when you have a game inside or when you don't have a game inside or both.

I have Forza motorsport 5 and fifa 15 on electric distribution(code) insalled on hard disk.I have buzzing in menu (when not playing game) .When playing game xbox one is silence.When i put disk with movie xbox buzzing ;/ .Xbox is silence when im PLAYING.
