    I recently purchased an older Xbox One off someone and it was working perfectly. I connected it to my internet, upon which it demanded a 4.5GB update. I let it go through the update but it got stuck on verifying the update, so after half an hour I shut it off and tried again. This time, my husband turned off the TV in the middle of the update because he wanted to go to bed, and when I went to turn the TV on in the morning, the Xbox showed no connection, not even a black screen. Just simply acting like it's not connected whatsoever.

    So far we have tried:

    - 4 HDMI cables

    - 4 HDMI ports

    - 2 TVs

    - Formatting using USB drive

    - Forcing into safe mode using eject/power button

    We don't know what else to do. HDMI ports on TV are confirmed working as they are working with the other consoles we have. One of the HDMI cables we tried was new. Is there anything we haven't tried? We can't afford to send it anywhere. Console was working great before it tried to force the update on us. I even tried reformatting it from the settings menu but it said it needed the update in order to do so.

    I'm very limited in my knowledge of consoles but hubby's a computer repairman. One thing we noticed is that it feels like the HDMI cable didn't fit tightly. The HDMI port is tightly in place, but it almost feels like it's recessed a tiny bit and the cable can't get in far enough. I don't know if this is the case or not. If there's anything else we can try, please let me know. I just needed this system to test games for my business. Thank you!

    When you tried "Forcing into safe mode using eject/power button"
    Did you receive video from the console or not at all?

    In the meantime, can be a bit dumb but may I know if you tried power cycling the console or connecting it in a different room or directly to the power outlet?
    Power cycling:
    1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable from the console and from the power outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
    Important: Be sure to wait at least 5 minutes. This step resets the power supply.
    3. Plug the console power cable back in.
    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

    By the way, if it's the OG Xbox one (with an external power brick) did you tried using a brand new power brick?

    Confirmed I have two xbox ones, mine works after update, But my sons does not after the update. I tried everything. Nat is open and even disabled it on my router. His xbox shows NAT open. he has no restrictions also. Microsoft needs to fix this.

    Green Xbox screen (Aprox 41 seconds)

    Bottom greeting followed by a beep.

    Black screen.

    What now. I have tried everything listed in your page. And nothing has fixed my issue.

    Can you back out the update? Send me the code, put on a USB drive. So I can have a functional Xbox again.

    Live TV broke after update

    Yep, I had the same problem after launch and it seemed to have gone away for a while. Then after this update it came back full force. I tried all the old tricks, but none of them have worked. At this point, it's more of a hassle to try and unplug my Xbox
    One cords, then the cable box and then power cycling everything for the "advantage" of voice commands that work at random. My Xbox One will be going from input one to input four. /end rant

    Revert to an actual working Xbox voice command mode

    I am having a similar problem with Netflix as well as Hulu, but Amazon Video and Youtube work just fine. I have tried everything and nothing helps. This has happened before, it always seems to happen after an update. I hope Microsoft is aware of this
    and is working to fix it.
