My Xbox One has no sound. I've checked the HDMI cable, the TV tuner, and connections. On Thursday it worked, come Friday I have no sound. Is this a common issue? Is there a quick fix that I can't figure out? Just looking for answers before I have to call
MS for support. Thanks Xbox family

    :)

wow really? Nobody has any comments at all regarding this issue? Nobody has run into this issue before? Bummer, i feel as though microsoft has no fix for this.

However, if I was able to manually update the system and do an entire system update I believe it would fix the issue. However no such option is available as it says "xbox is up to date" in the settings section where it says "updates"

    Xbox one has no sound

Hello. My xbox one has no sound at start up. I looked online and tried all the troubleshooting issues, for example replacing the HDMI cable, I replaced it, checking the settings and trying to see if changing which sound i use then restarting then restarting
and changing the sound back to original unsupressed stereo fixes it, nothing helped. I even tried shutting off the console for 30 minutes with the cable unplugged to see if no power goes to the system then plugging it back in and restarting it would fix it,
to no avail. The video works fine no matter which HDMI cable I use but no matter what there is no sound. I tried thinking maybe the software driver malfunction so possibly doing a system update would fix it but when i go to the menu to do a system update it
says the system is already updated. I no longer know what option to go through. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I had the same issue the other day. I hard reset the console by holding the power button for ten seconds and it seemed to sort it.

Xbox One X hub has sound, but one guide has no sound!!

    Hey there Tx!

Sorry to hear you are running into issues with the Sound. If you have not already gone through this support article for "How to connect
your Xbox One to your Home Theater system for live TV
." It will show you how exactly to connect to get audio to enjoy your Cable through the One Guide app.

If you have already gone through this, let us know so that we can further assist.

Xbox One X hub has sound, but one guide has no sound!!

First things first: did you restart your console? If you haven't already, from the Guide, go to Settings tab > Restart. This will do a full restart and may take a few minutes.

Do you have another HDMI device, such as a computer? You could plug it into the Xbox (in place of the cable box) to see if the issue is with the Xbox, or the cable box. That will tell you if the HDMI input on the Xbox is working for sound.

Also, check the settings on the cable box. You may need to enable HDMI audio, or change settings for surround sound.

You could also plug the HDMI cable (not the optical cable) from the cable box, directly into the TV, and see if you get sound though the TV speakers. That may help determine if the cable box is outputting sound through HDMI.

You could also try changing surround sound settings on the Xbox. Some cable boxes may work best with a certain setting. Open the Xbox Guide > Settings tab > All Settings > TV & OneGuide > Audio & Video > change Stereo to Surround sound (or vice versa). You
will need to restart the console.
