This is the sad truth and Microsoft needs to do something about it. Right now Assassins Creed Black Flag is $25 on Xbox 360 but its $60 on Xbox One. I understand its a sale but even on Amazon the 360 version is $15 while the Xbox One version is $25. Even
if the Xbox One version was lowered to $30-$35 it would be better then still having it at full retail price 6+ months after it releases. This would also apply to Need for Speed, Forza, Dead Rising 3, Ghosts, and Ryse.

    :)

    Fallout 3 DLC 50% Off

IMO if the game has dropped from regular price the DLC price should be dropped as well

  3. Granting Allowances for a Family Pack Gold Membership.

I have an Xbox LIVE family pack for three. I am trying to purchase downloadable content for a game onto one of the "child" accounts. However, ever since they dropped the Microsoft points, I can't seem to grant them an allowance for them to purchase the item.
How am I able to grant them them an allowance now that Mircosoft has dropped their point system? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

First off XB1 hard copies are Blu Ray discs. Secondly, they are Next Gen games, and have better graphics, smoother game play and an overall better experience. Last, the pricing is not all on Microsoft and the Xbox Team. They are told a set price and
have to keep it there. And all respect due, Mcchittum are you really going to compare prices with Amazon? Everyone knows you get great deals and the best deals on that website.

Considering the digital download which doesn't include a hard disc or case is almost 2 and a half times more expensive then the hard disc is on Amazon then yes I will compare it. It doesn't even have to be the same price as Amazon but it should be in the
ballpark, should be at least $40. I understand most retailers still have it listed at $60 but they price match to Amazon, while you'd be paying full price for a digital download. Has to be a way to improve the pricing on digital games or their really is no
point to downloading them other then that being a preference of the user.

It is all about preferences. And price match against Amazon? Impossible, they are so dominant that they dictate the prices, or pull the retail from there shelves if they can not sell it at the price they want. So you can compare all you want, Amazon will
always have the last say and the lowest price. You are right about digital copies not having a disc or a box and should be lower. But there is nothing they can do about it because it is up to the publisher to dictate the price. If MS were to say we are
selling this game at a low price, the Publisher has the right to pull the product. So where does MS have the leverage? They do not. Secondly, when games go on sale, you do realize MS has to foot a small portion of the bill to make up for the Publishers
loss right? While I do agree, I understand how and why it will more than likely never happen.

By the way, let's try to think why the Publishers price digital games so high. No, you may not have a Box, a Book (which are growing rare), and a disc. But essentially you have an immortal copy of a game. Digital games are always there, even if your console
goes down or a game data is corrupted, you just re-download it, you also don't have to get up and put the disc in or to take it out. They (Publishers) may believe digital is all about convenience. Also, they could want to make up for the distribution of
the hard copies, packaging and shipping the product. Therefore should be priced parity, to make up for losses of used game sales, and distribution. After all, this is a business.

To be fair, we are already seeing quicker digital sales then we have in previous generations. Tons of the "XBLA" titles have been on sale (or perm price reduced) less than 3-6 months post release which has been fantastic. That wasn't the case in the previous
    gen.

  10. I remember when the talk of digital was how it:

    1. Benefitted the developer/publisher by cutting out a lot of the costs of retail. Thus more profits

    2. Would benefit consumers by allowing for reduced costs on games so they would come out cheaper

I can see the benefits for dev/pub by cutting out the "middle man" retail chain as they can ship less retail copies. But I really see no benefit to me as a consumer. I have little issue with changing a disc. If a game is $30 retail and $60 digital (have
seen many with similar pricing) I cannot see spending twice as much just to save myself that less than 30 seconds of putting in a disc. Not to mention the possible resale value. I guess one positive to this as a consumer though is there are less physical
copies. I could see that eventually increasing their value. I have sold new copies of older games at fairly high prices before so that could be a major thing.
