xbox one hardware failure rate ?

I've received a replacement xbox one today so we'll see if I can reduce my personal xbox failure rate to 50%. I had my previous xbox repaired (thinking that MS would do a full diagnostic on it and tune it all up). However, it failed to turn on after one
day of use. I then needed to decide if the issue was the brick or the console. This was difficult because I had my cable box HDMI cable plugged into the xbox during the brick trouble shooting and it made the orange light stay dimly lit when it should have
been off (if console is bad) thus not giving me a clear indication of which one failed. It ended up being my console, so I did the advanced replacement.

I received the advanced replacement today. Had a little scare because the controller wouldn't connect wirelessly. I then plugged it in with a usb cable and then realized I had purchased a new wireless keyboard that was sitting next to the xbox. I removed
the batteries from the keyboard and unplugged the controller. It connected! So I'm setting up the xbox for the third time in a month.

If it is still alive tomorrow, then I think I've got a working unit. To be continued...

 

The first console I received was bad. However, my replacement console works fine (10 days). My production failure rate is 50%. We'll see how long term goes. So far I'm happy with the performance, after the initial issues.

day 1 buyer here. mine gets used every day. about 12-16 hours a day, plus has an external HDD in it. not 1 issue and its still quiet and cool.

 

Purchased in March as part of titan fall setup. No issues with unit but my d-pad on one controller is clicky now.

 

If you feel the X1 while it's on you can see they went 'out of there way' to make sure this thing stays cool along with the giant well circulated power brick, probably due to 360 woes. Sony gets the engineering hat tip though, since their console has the
power supply built in and it's still a smaller box.

Comparing the controllers is night and day. X1 controller feels cheap especially the d-pad. Sticks are too loose. PS4 controller is way better built with more functionality. This gen I actually prefer the PS4 controller by a long shot.

 

Is there any issues with the WIFI part of the Xbox One?

Will it work with my Motorola Surfboard?

 

I've used mine pretty much every day since I purchased it and haven't had a single issue with it. I was on my 2nd or 3rd Xbox 360 at this point for comparison. I also have numerous friends that own Xbox Ones and haven't heard anything from them either. *Thumbs

I've had my Day One Xbox 1 with Kinect since Launch, 22 November 2013. No hardware issues for me.

I've had my Xbox 360 slim 250gb slim console since I joined Xbox late 2010, and it's still working fine.

 

Bought mine day one. Since then it's been on more or less all day every day. When I'm not gaming I use it for listening to music, watching movies or Twitch etc. No issues at all. The console is so quiet you have to put your ear against it to hear the fan.

had mine since day one use it fopr 7-13 hours a day playing all sorts of games and still not a problem. the Mrs has one aswell and she is the same
