Xbox One hard drive swap to Xbox One S

Right I may be overthinking this and it may be just as easy as it sounds but ones got to ask, Is it possible to take my hard drive from my Original Xbox One with all my stuff on it and put it into an Xbox One S? My Xbox One is basically on its last legs
and I dont see it lasting that much longer so I need to buy a new xbox (Looking at the S) but I dont want to have to re-download all my games and stuff like that.

I only ask because I know Microsoft has failsafes against swapping most things in Xboxs and knowing my luck they have one for the hard drive if it is the case is there a way around it? Or is it just a simple swap?

You can just swap the hard drives between the Xboxs just as long as they are both the 250gb ones; the 4gb ones do not have a removable hard drive. In that case you can transfer your profile onto a USB memory stick or the Cloud save service.

Nah,you can't swap hard drives on the One so buying an external hard drive is the only option at the moment.
