xbox one hard drive not working

i turned on my xbox yesterday and the hard drive would not load its games so i thought it would sort it self out but i loaded up the xbox today and the hard drive was still not loading the games so i contacted a administrator to see if they could help me
but they didnt have any solutions so this is my last resort

Xbox One will not recognize second external hard drive

Hello All:

I have an xbox one. I have been using two external hard drives with it. Recently the xbox stopped recognizing that the second hard drive was connected. I figured the hard drive quit working, so I purchase a new 4tb Seagate Xbox External Hard Drive to
use. I plugged it in and the xbox did not recognize it either. I have done hard reboots, switch usb ports, switch cables, etc... and nothing that I do gets the xbox to recognize either the original second external hard drive that was working perfectly or
the new second external hard drive. Even when I remove the first external hard drive, and hard reboot, the xbox will still not recognize the either the new external hard drive or the drive that had worked well in the past as a second external hard drive.
I figure something is wrong with my xbox one. Please advise what I should do.

A little more information would be helpful. So you get to the dashboard but when you go to start a game it will not load? Are your games on the internal drive or an external drive?

 

the xbox does not recognise the external hard drive and the only games i can play are the only ones that are installed on the xbox and when i start up the xbox none of the games come up and when i insert a disc i just says install disc but it does not work

 

Try this it has worked for some users. Disconnect the external drive from the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug
the power cord back in and restart the console (DO NOT reconnect the external drive yet) . Once the console is back up and operational reconnect the external drive and test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!
