Just get a bigger hd and swap it i.. oh never mind

Will smaller external hard drives be supported by Xbox One? Like 500gb-1tb?

Which would you choose between the following two bundles, assuming that the two are priced identically:

(1.) An Xbox 360 with a small hard drive, one controller, Kinect, one game
(2.) An Xbox 360 with a large hard drive, two controllers, one game

 

Yes it sucks, but don't worry about it virtually everyone who bought an Xbox One or a PS 4 or even a Wii-U has the same problem. As of right now you can swap the PS4 HD for certain other models. The Wii-U allows for external storage devices. The Xbox One
will add support for external storage devices in the very near future.

So basically everybody who bought a Next Gen console has the need for another Hard Drive right out of the box with mandatory game installs of 30+ gigs. It wasn't a nefarious secret they were keeping either, all three console makers pretty much stated it
as fact.

I don't know if he's using it wrong but I have ac4, killer instinct, ghosts, and forza5 and probably a dozen apps with about 250gb left plenty for future games and apps its like ~35% I have no problems

 

Four games is under 75GB, with apps around 75GB. Troll much?

 

So when i buy an external hard drive do will that add on to my console storage or do games i install install to the external hard drive and my xbox one will play them from there? just curious

 

A 500GB hard drive, is never 500GB to start with anyway, it will be 465GB as its 1024KB per MB not 1000. It'll then be formatted to NTFS for the Win 8 kernel. Then you'll have various partitions, probably one reserved for firmware updates, the OS itself
and then you'll be left with actual space.

I have 7 games and most of the apps, I have 48% used on my HDD.

I do agree that the hard drive is too small, but the promised external hard drive support should fix that. I have a 3TB Hard Drive sitting right here that I bought on clearance to use for my Wii U and that's obviously not getting used. So I am looking forward
to the Xbox One supporting it.

However, for the time being, I will just delete games when I am done with them. I have nearly all the launch games and am currently using 79.8% of my HDD right now, but several of those games can be deleted once I am done with them. Some of them I wont play
again or wont play enough to justify keeping them installed.

 

Didn't realize how long my post was until after I posted it. Unfortunately there's no way to delete it cuz I seem to have confused some of u cuz u think I'm the confused 1. Only 2 games saved & I used 22% of my memory which seems about right except when
my X1 says I only have 280 GB left.

 

I'm basically unhappy at how 500 GB isn't much when u consider how much space is needed 4 just games & the OS. I wasn't expecting to already have to shell out more money ALREADY on something I just bought. I shouldn't have to delete my games for the sake
of being able to save new ones. Doesn't seem right considering it's a gaming system. The space is managed poorly. I expected more after 8 years..

 

500GB hard drive to start. the 3 Operating systems takes up a huge chunk we only have about 3 and some change for typical storage

 

I have lots of room on my HDD with several games installed. I'm not going to be concerned until I have less than 10% left!

 

I have 7 games installed as well as ~6 apps & I'm only at about 45% full. Still plenty of room for a lot more games. I'm not worried.
