Xbox one grey screen after system update

    Xbox one grey screen after system update


    I have an original Xbox one and I just completed a system update and all I get now is grey screen. I did the hard reset and I get the Xbox one green screen with the logo then it goes right to grey screen. It shows my profile signed in and my headset is assigned in the little notification that pops up on the bottom of the screen and when I hold my Xbox controller button for a few seconds it brings up the shut off controller/ shut off console menu but I can't bring up my Xbox home menu. I recently signed my profile in on a friend's Xbox series x so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it but I am just looking for some advice on how to reverse this. Is there anything I can do while I try to find a series X to buy?

    Looking for a fix for this too. My xbox has been stuck on a grey screen with the same situation as yours for 2 weeks. Can't seem to fix it.

    I am part of the Insider Programme which might be part of the reason it's **** up.

    Hi BoxCar,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. With console updates, if you ignore them, eventually they will automatically install. This could be why it is doing the grey screen. Try leaving it go for a bit to see what happens. It may be trying to apply an update. If
    continue to get the grey screen you will need to do an
    offline update     and after that is done update the console when you connect to the internet.
