Xbox One grey display

    I powered on my xbox as usual, the green loading screen stayed for about 3-4 minutes then went grey. I shut down my console and tried again twice and is still displaying grey. (Xbox one is probably reaching 10 years old) I don’t have enough money to buy a new console, what can i do? It shouldn’t be anything to do with the hdmi ports as i never change it and it worked fine the day before.

    I'm sorry you're experiencing these issues.

    If you have the opportunity, please try connecting your console to another TV or monitor and using a different HDMI cable.

    Determine if the console behaves the same way with these tests.

    The only 'grey thing' I get on my dshbrd is the Kinect Voice Reg. menu - and only when I use it, I'm not too sure I even recall one on previous dshbrd versions. Are you sure that 'grey thing' isn't from your TV display?

    check to make sure the display is set as auto on the xbox and not just hdmi under video modes. mine was greyed out until i set it auto.

    From what the manual shows, when you activate the OSD it will show you the display input and the resolution or display format at the bottom of the OSD in grey text on a black background.

    Variable refresh on the 27GL83A-B maxes out at 100Hz via HDMI on this display. This is why this option is greyed out.
