Xbox One going to service, Best way to prepare so I don't lose anything?

So I have a Day One edition of the Xbox One. About 3 months ago the HDMI input stopped working, yes I have tried all of the troubleshooting and no matter what it stops working again after a few days. So I will be sending it off to service. Is there anything
special that needs to be done, like backing up everything to a flash drive for the Xbox 360, to make sure I don't lose anything on my console? I would rather not lose the last year of gameplay.

You shouldn't loose any game data as this is stored in the cloud, sorry you have lost your day one good luck with the new console.

If you have an external hard drive (USB 3.0 256GB - 16TB) you can move all your games to the hard drive so you don't have to redownload it again. You should also remove your gamertag info from the console.

If it's on Xbox you may have a corrupted download. The best way to resolve that is to uninstall everything that's downloaded so far. Then clear local saved games (don't worry you won't lose anything it's all saved to the cloud) Then try clearing the MAC
address too before installing again.

None of this helps. It's a firmware issue.

Either way, i found out i can connect a third USB drive to Xbox One.

I have too much games on Xbox One, so i run out of space frequently. Gonna add a third drive.

Yes, i know it can lose "connection" sometimes, i know that in advance.

Losing HDD is not that big of a problem, but losing all data on it is bigger.

Losing games on HDD is also the best way to clear up space.

This normally happens if you have a past due on a subscription.

The best way to check that is to go to account.microsoft.com/services and check to see if there is anything past due.
