Xbox one Getting Windows 10.

Microsoft track record and history....is known.(manipulation,lie,ect...a real soap-opera)

I don't use PC and i bough a Xbox one to play multiple games....I'm also in preview program (and know that everything can happen).

Not an angry blind consumer who try to bring somekind of truth or knowledge....

Seems i see a bigger picture.

Guess Randver didn't see this news when it came to pc, also preview members will be the ones who will get the windows 10 xbox update first I would presume so if there is issues then they hopefully get fixed before releasing to the entire xbox community.

I didn't see that and what's strange is it's not showing up on Forbes main tech page or any of the other big tech sites. It doesn't surprise me with the amount of negative PR they were getting on it.

I leave the forums for a while and it seems like nothing has changed! Good old Randver being completely anti Microsoft as usual.

 

Yay Windows 10 comes out tomorrow. The return of the start menu, can change the UI background, cortana, hololens thingy. Microsoft markets Windows 10 really well with the Youtube vidoes. Some on here have expressed interest for your Xbox 1 console to be
able to talk back to you, like what phones can do. Anyone who says Windows 10 ain't good probably has been in this preview thingy where Microsoft has warned you only install the preview thingy on a backup PC. Fun things await with Windows 10.

And you're coming back to defend Microsoft even when the facts are right in your face (and even linked in this thread) that they *** up?

Love to here why you think mandatory updates should have been kept and how you would prevent the problems that happened this weekend from happening again.

too many people in this thread dismissing randvers posts just because of a personal dislike for his 'apparent PC interests' but the cold hard truth is, he is right. Windows 10 isnt ready yet (beta build proves this), and if you install before the first service
pack becomes available, then god help you!

I've been using it since the earliest build and, aside from a few glitches, it has run great; on one of my main computers by the way.

I do believe M.S. is making a mistake with the mandatory updates on the base version of 10; have they not learned that people want CHOICE? Lol. I have two computers that will not be switched to 10 because of this...unless they give me a discount on Pro.
I wouldn't even mind if the default was automatic updates on...just give me the option to turn off.

Just like the ASUS laptop I bought last month; no easy option to turn the touch-pad off. My choices were, uninstall the driver or enter the bios and disable; I chose to disable it rather than looking for drivers if I ever decided to use it again.

I truly dislike auto updates. Give us a choice M.S..

There are always some issues with new OS's especially when replacing a previous one.

The positive I see with Xbox is at least they only have to make sure that the update, support and everything that is involved with the transition is for 1 specific hardware configuration.

 

I have my laptop and PC ready and waiting in sleep mode for the update - no idea what time it'll go live though?

 

Just had issues with Windows 10 this morning, wouldn't come out of sleep, just stuck loading, did a reboot and then it could detect any Ethernet or wireless network connections, another reboot and I'm up and going again.

But I have to agree, the latest build still feels like we are still knee deep in beta, hope they don't push out the X1 version half baked.

Been using Windows since it came out as an insider. Even used, and still using, Office 2016. I am not worried about Windows 10 coming out to PC nor to the Xbox. With Windows 8, that was rushed.

I believe Microsoft has learnt from that mistake.

This way the community over there can help. The Moderators on the Microsoft community can also escalate any bugs/problems people are having so they are known and product can work on them.

As for the Xbox One, I believe it will allow us to navigate through the Xbox One at ease. Making it faster and run smoother. Can't wait for it to be released to the Xbox One preview

It's difficult to report bugs when they're not consistent, there has never been any pattern to the issues I've been having, but so far all of it has been resolved with a reboot or 2.

My view is that Windows 10 is not ready for the main stream release and should stay in the oven a little longer, and tomorrow is going to be MS helpdesk's worst nightmare, I was there when 2000, ME and XP launched, those were some of the worst days of my
working history(2000 actually wasn't too bad). But I also think that the X1 update to Windows 10 will work better just because it is a more standardized device.
