Xbox One getting digital game preorders soon

Xbox One Getting Digital Game Preorders "Soon," Dev Says -- Will You Use It? Cant see this being that great personally, since it would mean paying over the odds, plus you could just download on release anyway as their is no chance
of them running out of stock which kind of defeats the object of a preorder. That being said maybe some people want this and would welcome it?

Digital Game Pre-Orders "Soon" says Dev.

Sunset Overdrive developer Insomniac Games says the functionality should be available sometime before launch in October.

Does Pre-ordering digitally also download the game in the background and be available to play on the launch date @ 12:00 AM?

That would be great if it did.

Xbox One Pre-orders and Fifa14

I live in Australia, during gamescom they announced the free copy of FIFA 14 for European day one preorders, I still wasnt getting it, but 2 weeks after gamescom they announced all Xbox One day one preorders in Australia are also getting the free FIFA 14
digital Download, so maybe you had be in that sweet spot.

That depends on the price....Lets say i want to buy,hmmm Destiny soon but the price here in blighty is the same wether i buy it digitally or physically.Whats the point?I have a hunch that the game will cost £59.99 in the live store when its released yet
i can order it from Amazon* now for £45.

Worse still i hear from my american friends that it'll cost $59.99 over the pond...Is the pound and the dollar suddenly worth the same amount or are we still getting ripped off over here?How can a product purchased digitally in the states cost less than
the same product purchased digitally over here?

Is there really a point to pre-ordering a digital copy of a game?

After all it isn't as if they are going to sell out of them and pre-order bonuses are always made available later on for purchase.

Surely the only things worth pre-ordering are those things you know have limited stock.

 

The only time I'll go digital for pre-orders is if they make them substantially cheaper than what I can pick them up for on disc which I don't ever see happening.

 

When they say digital pre-order do they mean that you can download early then quickly unlock it once it launches?

This would be great for peeps on slower connections. Digital downloads can be huge on XB1

 

Think this sounds ok for me because if it does cost £59.99 i can then share the game with my son and we can both play the game at the same time, so really its £30.00 each.

 

Thats great Lowei, can see it benefiting everyone that buys and shares in the same household then, like the idea from Majikthise would be a good plus point being able to download in readiness for release then unlocking to play.

 

Like others say as long as you can download before the release date then get the unlock code at midnight, it's a good idea , however they need to sort out the pricing cause ATM it's to exsopensive

 

After looking a the link, it looks like pre-downloads are also planned. (PS4 and PC can already do this of course!)

 

Unless £20 cheaper than a physical copy, its not worth the money as you have no resale ability.
