XBox One Gamestop (White, Gold controller) battery issues in NXOE/controller updates

I'm not sure if this is a direct result of NXOE or to due with the recent controller updates but my brand new game stop controller and brand new xbox one play n charge battery now needs to be charged after less than 4 hours of game-play

I have three different play n charge kits and one is the brand new kit due to the battery draining so fast. I have two gamestop white controllers one brand new and a third day one controller.

All combinations drain the battery extremely fast so its not a defective controller or battery issues.

Charging it using the kit, or even a third party usb cable for over 6-8 hours overnight still have the same results

What has changed that is draining so much battery power now in NXOE?

Also an earlier poster was referring to this as the lunar white model. Don't confuse it with the GameStop-exclusive lunar white controller with the gold d-pad. They're not the same thing. The GameStop one is the original model in a different color.Click to expand...

The lunar isn't original, but an updated version of the original. It has the newer bumpers on it.

There's 3 base controllers (OG, updated OG, and S), and 1 elite controller.

How to tell differance between Xbox one and Xbox on S controlers ?

I had a gamestop white controller on my DAY ONE XBOX ONE.... and I picked up a Xbox One S.

I know the Xbox one S controller has blue-tooth and gives "CLAIMED" almost double the range as the standard Xbox one controller.

SO, if I was going to buy another controller, How can one tell the DIFFERENCE between the 2 ?

I compared it to my Gamestop controller (about 3 months old), it's exactly the same, the connectors on the bottom, the battery compartment, the shape, even the texture on the back of the controller..

I saw this and this is not BLACK AND WHITE

I would expect Microsoft to even put a small blu-tooth logo on the back of it or something of the sort.

So, how does one LOOK at a controller and tell it's a S vs a standard one ?

I just got an Xbox One X and I noticed that my Rechargable battery won't charge whenever I use the black controller that came with the Xbox One X. However whenever I use my white Xbox one controller which I
bought seperately, it charges fine with no issue.

I already checked to see if the black controller needed an update but it did not. Does anyone know what the issue could be? Is my black controller not working properly? I would really like not having to switch
controllers just to charge my battery.

Note: I use a usb wall charger instead of plugging it to the xbox and works perfectly fine on my White controller. Also pluggin my black controller directly to the xbox it shows that it is "charging" but it
is not.

Maybe the cable for Xbox one S isn´t compatible to use on the controller for Xbox one X. What kind of cable are you using to charge it? I always charge my batteries with Wall Chargers, maybe will be good if you have at least 2 pairs of rechargable batteries.

Just to clarify a bit.

When the control does not have batteries in it does it still get hot? (If plugged in without batteries)

Does the control heat up with a different set of batteries? (Different type)

I To have had problems with my MS Xbox rechargable battery packs... The odd thing is I have/used one white controller with a white battery pack and one black controller with two rechargable battery packs (bought a new one after the first one stopped charing)
but unly the black battery packs stopped working, while the white one has had no issues both of which where charge with the play and charge kit, I used/use the two controllers on two different black xbox360 elite's so I guess there could be an issue with power
on the usb conection on one of the consoles... But still it's really odd! But for me to buying an official quick chage kit has solved the problem, both batteries seem to have been brought back to life..

I've tried with two different rechargeable batteries as well as standard batteries, still nothing. USB cable worked though.

It's worth noting that only the Xbox One X controller (just recently purchased from GameStop) has the connection issue and the sleep issue. I've got an Xbox One generation controller that syncs and sleeps as normal, but it has issues registering button clicks
so i try not to use it.
