Xbox one games

Does anyone know what games on Xbox one that do not require a connection to play offline? I recently bought my Xbox one and it won't let me play offline. I thought that it was fixed to where you only needed to connect once and could play offline as much
as you wanted.

Considering every game has to be installed on your console and probably needs to be updated in the process, I wouldn't honestly know...

 

I've never had a problem playing games offline...even the G.W.G. (Tried them all offline except for Worms:Battleground. Bought G.T.A.5 this past friday; installed it offline, and played it offline. On a side note going offline to install disc based games
is a LOT quicker. Killer Instinct is always played offline because I only play a couple rounds here and there and don't feel like taking the 6+Gb update.

Now as far as the G.W.G., I have always chosen "Go Offline" to try them out and don't know if there is a "check-in" or how long one could play offline. I've only tried it for 20 minutes, at the most, before going back online.

Edit: As far as G.T.A.5; soon as I went back online it installed almost a 1Gb patch.

 

D33dles, why don't you install those updates? They (for the most part anyways) make the games better! Especially in Killer Instinct's case.

 

I know from experience. We move place on November, and didn't have internet for 6 days and I live in a city. Xbox 1 games you can play offline include Minecraft and Zoo Tycoon. But if you've saved games to the Cloud which Zoo Tycoon allows you to, you won't
be able to access them without Xbox Live connection. I'm sure there are other games you can play offline.

Just remember all online activity runs through Xbox Live. Even if game devs use their own servers, if Xbox Live is having issues, you may not be able to access some/certain services.

 

Hopefully, you've connected your new console to the Internet at least once to install the console updates. While you can play the games offline, it is probably best to be connected initially to download those game updates.

Can anyone name one game that hasn't required at least a day one update?

I know Microsoft did a 180 on the constant internet connection policy but it really is required to have your console connected every few weeks for updates and patches.

 

As far as the Killer Instinct update, that's the main load for season two and worthy of an update as any game out there.

 

Wow I'm so irritated over this. Its so not right that I have to "check in" once a day to play something I bought and own. I really don't see where they can get off telling people they have reconfirm licensing. Something purchased digitally, I get that. But
when you physically buy a hard copy of something no one has a right to tell you when or when you can't play. Don't get me wrong I'll never switch to that Sony crap. I've supported Xbox since day one. I still own my original Xbox, still works, two 360 consoles
n now my Xbox One. The equipment is truly the best. I'm completely torn up over having to log on online everytime I wanna play "my games". Well honestly once a day is no better. I mean we already pay for Xbox. No complaints, but now we have to have permission
to play? Thats not right. Disturbing to think I have basically a high-tech "brick".

@Dwoop33, no it isn't cheap. Its not about the money for me. Its about having to get permission to play something I own. Its the principal of the matter.

 

You're not required to sign in daily. With some games (and even the console itself) it is required you sign in at least once to get all of the updates (console & game).
