Xbox One - Games with Gold

For one sony is not "giving" you anything. Ms is currently the only console company "Giving" free games away.

Letting you use something under a stipulation that you subscribe then taking it away if you do not subscribe or do not continue to sub is a borrow. No matter which way you put it. New or old!

@Dude, i am highly aware of the program and i think it is a waste of resources and will do nothing but cause bad taste for some.

I will stick to my opinion because i believe in supporting the industry by buying my games. I would not call the titles sony is letting people "borrow" recent! They are old games.

Free is free and i doubt you will see anything we have currently make it into the first few waves of G4G. I think the big secret will be indie dev's being paid by MS to create a network of free games to be released to the public. On the xbox360 these were
called Indie games and were typically 1 dollar. This is the most plausible step to take when giving free games out. Its cheap and those developers were doing great things. That is a win win.

 

From my understanding, the free games from Sony are only available as long as you're a PS+ member. With MS, the free games are yours forever, even if you stop paying for a gold subscription. The argument over which company has the better free games is null
& void because it is subjective depending on your own personal tastes.

Its not subjective. Ps games are free to an extent. Ms games are free for you to keep.

So ps games simply are not free. And technically neither are xbox g4g.

GWG on the 360 didn't feel like I was getting a game at all. They released the only game people wanted (Halo 3), which in its own right is 6 years old, a month before the new console came out. That should have been one of the first releases. It was mostly
filled with either old, or irrelevant games. For that reason, I don't expect much from the Xbox One version. They have this not to really reward players and take a financial hit, just to say they have this system in place and release games that everyone already
has or does not want. I mean who the hell wants some magic card game... ?

 

Just because you do not like the game does not mean others wont. There will be no pleasing any of you. If you get a triple A title my guess is it wont be what you wanted. If they do something with indie developers like i suspect it wont be good enough cause
you call them stupid games. Even though you have never played them. I am laughing at that just so you know!

 

I can understand the whole 'free is free, so I'll take it'...but come on, Halo 3 as their first free game? As a subscriber of Xbox Live Gold, I don't expect to be offered the game I originally bought the console for, only seven years later. I'm absolutely
up for anything they'll offer, but their track record so far isn't great, and I'd like to see them exploring newer titles.

You once had the game possibly got rid of it and xbox is kind enough to give it back to you free of charge just incase you would like to re live it.

Now why on earth would they destroy their futures and the ability to feed their families just so people can have new games at the cost of nothing.

You do know it takes real people with real tables to put real food on to make these games in hopes to continue to put food in their children's mouth.

Whats next. Free movies at the theater, free cars, i would say free phones but one idiot already did that!

I bought that game, full price. I have kept Halo 3 and have it in my collection to this day. My point is this - what sort of benefits am I getting from Games for Gold? Nothing right now, because the titles are too old...I bought them years ago!

And of course I support the games industry, I'm not asking that MS give us everything for free, that's ridiculous, just that the Games for Gold promotion is actually relevant.

 

One free Triple A title every month is unspeakable. Xbox brand Xbox One would be giving away every game that came out within months of its release till it ran itself aground and closed up shop.

I just so happened to not keep that game among many of us here and MS was kind enough to give it back to me free of charge. <~~~Relevant

 

If you really think that MS giving you back a game you once owned for free should settle for the Games for Gold promotion, then I've lost all hope!

Stop with your just plain wrong info. The games on ps+ are good games and are usually less then a year old some less then 6 months for example last month Bioshock infinite. I have had ps+ for over a year and the games are great recent quality titles don't
be mad.

You can call them borowed but you don't need to return them when your ps+ sub expires they just lock, they are still there when you re sub. Whenever you want just get a month of ps+ and play all your games again. But your sub will not expire because you
are getting good value.

The model ps+ uses is so much better and works. After most people finish a game they are done with it anyway there are not too many games worth going back to and in the rare time there is you can pick it up retail. How many of the GwG games do you find
your self going back to after a month?

It's a constant library of good fairly new games I have friends who only play the free games and buy nothing. All for what 4 bucks a month call it a rental service all you like it's a great rental service. The only people who don't not like it are people
who don't have it.

 

Lost all hope because you are not getting free new games? Its not games for buying gold its here is some old games for maintaining gold thanks.

Plus I'm not mad at anything i play tons of games mostly that i buy. You think im jealous you can play bio shock infinite on your brand spanking new playstation, im not it sits on my shelf for rare playability.

Lets put to light my theory still holds Ps+ takes it away from you if you do not continue to buy subscription.

You try to spin it as it is only locked?? This equals taken away.

You say your ps+ sub will not expire cause of such great value, i say you Ps+ account expires when you do not pay it for what ever reason.

Therefore your game is taken away.

Ill take an old less cherished game that is available to me wether i maintain my monthly/Yearly fee or not anyday!

Now i am done this topic has been discussed to many times and is pointless. You will get your pesky games for gold Xbox One Edition and Imo it will not be what you think it is.
