Xbox one games turn red/disk drive failure/HDMI port no longer works (give customer service ...

My Xbox One has failed completely. I will be honest to say my warranty expired. I bought my xbox Jan 2014, I started having disk drive problems in Sep. This was along with my games turning red. If I messed with the disk drive a few times (power cycle/eject)
it would work. It would only work if I messed with it for about 10-20 mins. Today the system no longer works (it would turn on with no signal). I tried different HDMI slots (Wii U/Cable/PS4) worked fine. I have all systems as I enjoy gaming. I asked customer
service if there were any plans to fix this known issue with Xbox One, she said they have no plans to fix it. Well that really sucks, or is that hidden advice not to buy it again?

Customer service was completely unhelpful through this process. That is not to say they were rude, they just used a polite method to tell me "Our product fails, and will fail again but, there is nothing they can do(except for sending it in)." They wanted
to charge $400+ for repair... really? Why pay to have it fixed when I could just buy a new one? They really need to work on there tact and supplying "proper' advice when this issue comes up (i.e. it would be better if you went out traded a broken xbox and
purchased a new one). Price for repair and price for trade in plus buying a new one has minor differences. I was denied any other compensation to fix my issue (no extra gold service months, no games, just an I'm really sorry our product failed you).

Without any other incentive I find it really hard to go out any buy a product that will likely have the same issue again. I seriously doubt this post will get any light, probably get lost somewhere and locked. I am just curious to see if there ways a similar
response. Just thought some honest criticism in response to a product that fails should be said. My review an overall failure of your customer service, with ZERO incentive to come back. Now lets see if customer service has the courage to do something about
    it...

Post your experiences of failure and how customer service responded (in warranty or not, but please disclose which).

    :)

  2. Xbox One no signal to TV

The HDMI cord is in the right xbox port. I've changed HDMI cables. I've changed TV's. I've power cycled. I've reset to factory settings.

Nothing works. The xbox turns on fine, yet my TV gets no signal.

The xbox is fully functioning. I can even turn it off and on using my controller.

    What gives?

Es necesaria una televisión 4k para jugar en el xbox one S?

Hey Rafiqui halo! No you will not need a 4K television to use your Xbox One S. As long as it has an HDMI port it should work. Thanks!

Hey there, Firefox460! I'm very sorry to see your situation with your console. While it isn't a known issue that consoles fail, it is known that failure occurs with any sort of electronics.

The $400 price you mention is not for a repair, but a hold on a credit card to do an Advanced Exchange. The hold is to ensure that you send back your faulty console after receiving the replacement console. A standard repair for out of warranty repairs is
generally much cheaper, though the time it takes is longer because you have to ship your console to us to repair. You can find out the actual price you would pay for a standard repair by using our
Online Service Center and attempting to set up a repair order. You can cancel out of the request once you see the price.

Generally, when you do a repair through our service centers, you receive 1 month of Xbox Live Gold with your repaired console. That is something we offer in exchange for sending your console in and waiting for us to repair it.

Since this isn't a support thread, and you are looking for relating stories from other users, I'm going to lock this down. If you would like to chat with others about similar situations you all have been in, please head over to our
General Discussion forums, where you can have idle chats about the Xbox One. If you need assistance with any other support issue, please do not hesitate to post up a new thread detailing
what you're running into and troubleshooting you've completed. This way our community can get you the individual support that works best on the forums. Xbox one games turn red/disk drive failure/HDMI port no longer works (give customer service ... :)

My console has turned red and the screen is blank

Have all the lights turned red, if so, then it is just an issue with the video signal, try changing your video cable (hdmi or composite av cable)and see if that does the trick.

If it is just 3 red lights or red dot (If Xbox 360 S or E), then that is a general hardware failure, which usually means the console will no longer work, and no way to fix.

black screen after starting game or application

This issue is NOT fixed, why is it marked 'answered'? What the hell, Microsoft? I can't launch apps or games from hard drive or disk. Also, the answer I saw was to clear the cache three times? Why three times? And what does the cache have to do with any
of this? None of the proposed solutions worked. This is a QA and customer service failure and it's being dealt with very poorly.

    Xbox turning itself off

Sounds like you have a faulty Disk Drive and this maybe causing your Red Rings, you are going to have to send it in for repair. Red Rings mean different things and there are certain quadrants setup for Hardware Failure, which this sounds like, putting a
game in while the console boots up correctly then it red rings.
