Genchy, I am sure your Parents taught you this, but if not, I'll do it:
Either say what you mean, or mean what you say
. You can't have it both ways.

Personally, I make up MY OWN MIND. As for "Cherry pick" I simply call it as I see it. If that doesn't set well with "reliable forum members" (Cough.. Those with a Vested interest) then so be it!

In a nutshell here is how I see it without doing a direct comparison.

Sony NEEDS 1080p as a selling point and has PUSHED devs to provide IT with it and they have delivered.

Microsoft wants 1080p as a selling point and has freed up otherwise dedicated cores in an otherwise vain effort to obtain it. But does not really need it as the OS alone is their best selling point.

Yes, up until E3 2015 I had no interest whatsoever in "current gen" from either console manufacture, but now that BC was thrown into the mix. It seems to be a viable purchase.

That is IF everything goes as >I< would hope.

    Anything else?

What "vested interest". I don't think any of us have shares in MS.

THIS! I had messaged Haemimont on YouTube in regards to this awhile back and they said they had no interest in bringing it to Xbox One. I'm hoping that has changed, because I would LOVE to play this game.

@ Lofty, if only all games were up to the standard of the version in the second link lol, we would have no need for this type of debate then : p

  5. I don't quite get the remarks above, Sony wants 1080 and Microsoft need it?

Granted I've only just yesterday received my own Xbox One console but I've had a lot of experience playing various titles since the hardware launched on families consoles and never has my experienced changed for better or worse whether games were 1080 or
900 or 720. Do Microsoft really want it or need it? I think this mainly comes from the backlash of what we read on the internet from various fanboy sites.

I've owned a PlayStation since it was released, now unless I'm totally wrong not all of the titles I've played are 1080. I can honestly say my enjoyment didn't change because of this.

So if it is true that Sony want it and Microsoft need it then I think both companies could be in trouble before too long and we could see a new XB and PS before too long because a lot of games companies have wrote for all to see that they have struggled
with certain titles getting them to perform at 1080 even on Sony's supposedly more powerful machine.

It's strange to say the least, I game for enjoyment, it's my chill out time. For quite a few out there it seems half their enjoyment is trying to show how much better their versions are probably before even firing the game up for the first time.

You would think after 18 months devs would have learned to get 1080 60fps by now.

A lot of 360 games were achieving 1080 and at least 30fps

Resolution and Framerate DO NOT matter as much as it is being made out.

It the the overall game that matters. Story, mechanics, acessibility, and graphics. Framerate and resolution do not make up the entirety of graphics. And Batman Arkham Knight is going to be awesome.

I understand when someone says that they want these ridiculous benchmarks. Would I like 1080 and 60 fps every game? Yeah... Would it make a bad game good? No. Can it make a good game... Great? I don't think so.

Also, i havent seen these benchmarks the OP is talking about as being confirmed. Does anyone have a link i may have missed? Because all i can find is how amazing Arkham Knight is.

Depending on the genre of game framerate makes a huge difference, as a hack n slash nut I can tell you with absolute certainty that Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360 with it's uncapped framerate versus Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on ps3 with it's locked 30fps is a much better
experience, and as someone who has put 1000's of hours into the NG games on both platforms I can see where the frames are missing in character animations in the ps3 games.

Same goes for DmC on last gen with it's 30 fps lock, it's a far better game on current gen running at 60 fps. Combo transitions, weapon swapping etc are far better, it genuinely feels like a different game compared to last gen and for me turned a good game
    into a great game.

And surely this is all that should matter? I mean personally I have no interest in the game, that doesn't make it a bad game but it just isn't for me but like you mentioned, most places you look it's getting some fantastic feedback.

Wherever you look though the majority of talk from the gamers is about the resolution/FPS etc. I mean if there is a difference between the console versions the so what? as long as it's playable who really cares but no we go over the same ground again and
    again and again .... ZZZzzzzzzz

Slightly off topic. I read that Fallout 4 on consoles is going to be 1080p and 'only' 30fps, to all the Fallout fans that constantly harp on about FPS, still buying it even though it's only 30fps? I thought so ;-)

Really? People are going on about Res in batman? Like you it's not on my list of must haves but after watching a bit of the gameplay I wasn't thinking about that at all, looked really fun and the it looked great.

I'm just watching my nephew play it on Xbox One. The game still doesn't interest me as a game but it looks absolutely superb and runs extremely smooth.

I have Screamride and Minecraft for BOTH Xbox 360 and Xbox 1, and on Xbox 1, the graphics and processing power look way more amazing. It's down to the game developers and how well they know the system. A reason why Minecraft Halo MCC and Forza run at 1080p
is because the game devs understand the system better. Well 343 industries should since they're a subsidiary of Microsoft. DDR3 RAM has lower latency than GDDR5, and ESRAM has a HIGHER bandwidth (192GB/second) than GDDR5 (176GB or so/second).

"We purposefully did not target the highest end graphics. We targeted it more as a broad entertainment play. And did it in an intelligent way."

—Greg Williams, GM of Xbox silicon development (in the Wikipedia article under Xbox One search).

matter until they do. I know that is an oft repeated phrase but please bear with me.

I've played all the Batman Arkham games up until this point on console. Awesome games, great looking, and really good fun. The thing is I've also played them on PC, with better resolution and greater frames per second.

Now it really isn't hyperbole when I say that going back to the console versions isn't a pleasant experience. The games just don't look as they should and response times feel sluggish.

That doesn't mean they've suddenly become bad games but you do get left with the impression that they could be so much more. And with this generation there is no reason that they shouldn't be, the hardware in the One is more than able to handle 60fps without
having to make the compromises they are.
