    Hi, I live in Australia and I want to buy MGS V (Phyrical copy) For xbox one From amazon but I'm wondering if I get the American version will it still be playable in Australia?

    Xbox One from the US (Region free? Advantages? Disadvantages?)

    The Xbox one is region free for games.

    But for DVD's and Blu-rays, it is region locked. So your Xbox from the states would only be able to play region 1 discs

    Hey there, physical copies are region free, but digital purchases are a little bit different as you will still be able to play purchased games, but not re-download them from different regions.

    I think that xbox article doesn't explain it very well, at the end of the day at present you can buy games from other locations stores, and they will play in any region at present, but MS are slowly changing this, as it does have some real issues, I also
    wouldn't recommend you buy games and apps that aren't available in your region.

    So the best advice you'll get is, if you buy digital from other locations they will work, but don't expect them to always work, so the risk is yours.

    Another thing,all Chinese xbox one games are region locked,that includes physical.

    Another thing to consider, is languages are locked on the version you buy, so english although always available on the US store isn't available on every store and some in game content may change for various locations.

    XBOX 360 PAL TO NTSC COUNTRY

    The region locks technically aren't even NTSC/PAL locks because such a differential does not exist within the console. The games are just coded with a region lock. When a region locked game is loaded on a console from another region, it will display an
    error message. If a game is region free, it does not look for what region the console comes from and continues to run. The region lock outs for Xbox 360 games these days are down to the publishers, nothing more.

    Xbox One on the other hand has no regional lock outs at all for disc games. You can play any Xbox One game on any Xbox One console. There are certain region locks for downloads, but that has nothing to do with NTSC and PAL.

    No. Games are region free on the Xbox One but dvd/blu-ray is region locked.

    And blackops 2 is region and language locked

    Downloading a different language will incur the language .lock if.he tries.and get the.dlc

    Black ops 1-2 has a language lock if they use the wrong language disk or game.and download the region locked dlc the dlc is.locked with language of.the region downloading.a different region dlc will cause the language mismatch error (frpm.the 360 days )

    Xbox games weren't language independent till xbox one games but.doesn't apply retroactively

    And most bc titles are region locked most.famously cod games

    @op you can't change it.unless you are in a region that supports the language.you are requesting like us English you must.be in the us

    And you would.have to. make .the.correct purchase
