Discus and support Xbox One Games Region Codes? in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I am trying to find out if Xbox One games are region locked.     Xbox One Games Region Codes?


    I am trying to find out if Xbox One games are region locked. Can anyone point me to an official Xbox/Microsoft webpage that says one way or the other. I have found several dated articles from third-party sites from 2013 and one more recent but obscure post
    on another forum that say that Xbox One games are region free. However I can't seem to find anything official or recent on the subject. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Xbox One from the US (Region free? Advantages? Disadvantages?)

    The Xbox one is region free for games.

    But for DVD's and Blu-rays, it is region locked. So your Xbox from the states would only be able to play region 1 discs

    Hi, the Xbox One itself is region free (except for China, that's locked to china only), which means you can buy any games from anywhere in the world, and your Xbox will play it. As for region locked games, that all depends on the publisher and whether or
    not they want their game released in your country or not.

    Hey chief,

    Xbox one consoles are region coded to specific regions - game disks for the xbox one console are not coded to regions as per the above link.

    Sadly the xbox one will be region locked to the us. Codes and games bought in india will not work with the xbox one, however if you were to have family, or friends that you trust buy games/codes in the us they should work in india. The codes and games
    purchased must match the region your account/xbox originated from.

    Thats strange. The xbox one is region free and so are xbox one games. Even digital codes are region free. Are you sure you didnt buy a 360 game ?
