Xbox One Games in 4K

Ever wonder what an Xbox One game might look like in 4K? Well, this might give you a better idea!

Xbox One X won't play 4K from Sky Q through input and output HDMI Connection

The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

The Xbox One S Supports 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution - not 4K gaming

- Game developer has to make the game 4K

- 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)

 

One S 4k Gaming

Your information is not correct. Actually when you set the xbox one S console resolution to 4K UHD, everything on the console—Home, games, and apps—will display at 4K. 4K content is displayed in its native 4K resolution, and other content (like 1080p content)
is upscaled to 4K.

No offense but the game wouldn't even look like that to begin with since BF4 doesn't run at maxed settings on the Xbox One and I know people are going to complain because I'm the one saying this, but the hardware in the X1 can't even handle a game like that
at that native resolution / settings with a playable framerate.

 

You're missing the point, Bon - it's not a matter of will it or won't it. The idea is what it MIGHT look like.

It looked nice, but it's a shame Youtube can only show 30fps. Imagine that video in 60fps or higher.

 

I did notice how slow the video was.

I have to say though, it kind of added to the drama and music though.

Sure, but it depends on the game. To run a 3D PC game at 4K at 30 FPS, you'll need something like a Titan Black GPU. If you want 60 FPS in most games, you'll need 2 of them in SLI. That's £1,500 worth of GPU power.

My PC is approximately 4-5 times more powerful than an Xbox One and it has a £500 GPU in it that wouldn't do a great job of gaming at 4K unless I was happy with 20-30 FPS.

So yeah, I'm sure the Xbox One can play games at 4K, put only games like Geometry Wars. You're never going to see 3D games like Battlefield running at 4K on any existing console. They're simply nowhere near powerful enough.

As for the video, it's pointless watching it if you don't have a 4K TV or monitor, haha.

It brings a tear to my eye when I think what could have been if MS hadn't of sunk so much R&D into Kinect and TV viewing. The XB1 could have had the power of a GTX Titan.
