Xbox one games brought in USA - will they work on a UK Xbox one console

Hi

We are taking a family holiday to Florida next month and my son has just got an Xbox One (UK version). If he purchases a game in the USA will it work on his XBOX One? ALSO, can he still play online gaming with it against his friends via his live account (as
he would do if he purchased the game in the UK). I have read the games are region free? (does that mean they can be played anywhere?) sorry this is all new to us, not owned a console before

Thanks in advance - I don't want him spending all his birthday money to find out when we get home they won't work.

Will Foreign Games Work On The Xbox One ?

Im going on holidays to the USA soon and was wondering if I bought Xbox One games in the USA when I'm there, will they work on my console which was bought in the UK and will be there when i go back ?

Also does any DLC that comes with the game work with the games bought in the USA game when it will be played in the UK? Thanks in Advance.

XBOX One S - USA to UK Power change

Moving from USA to UK, we have an XBOX One which the family would like to take with them, will this work in the UK without any change or do we need to buy a new power pack. Will new games bought in UK work on the console or is it set to a USA region?

If it's a disc version then yes.The xbox one is region free when it comes to games on disc.

Blu-rays are region locked.

The only country with region locking is China but I doubt you'll be making a quick trip there while in Florida.

Hello, did it state that game was region locked? Like it can only be brought from USA to USA or UK to UK...not USA to UK it will be region locked. Does friend live in same region??

yea xbox one dosent work as advertised in the uk works fine in usa.

Since GT regions can not be changed you would need to start a new account if you wanted to use the USA market place.

You will still be able to use your UK GT on a USA console and play the games, but would still only have access to the UK store.

Also some DLC is so region locked that is you have to match all Regions for it to work.

Say COD:BO if you had a UK account and a USA game and a UK xbox - you could not get some map packs to work.

Short answer, Use your UK account till it is expired, then start a USA account.

Long answer, Start a USA account just to download DLC and keep using your UK items. (Until a game is released that is region locked and you need a USA console to play)
